Question about PreSonus Firebox 6x10 External Sound System
Hi. This is very frustrating. I've connected a Shure SM58 and am using Cubase LE 4. It's recording just fine, and I can monitor during recording just fine. The volume to the earphones while monitoring is also just fine. The problem is somewhere in the export of the audio mixdown. The result is very quiet, and even when I turn up the volume on any/everything I play the resulting file on, it's still very quiet.
I've tried doubling up the tracks and that helps, I've even done it up to five time with okay results, but it's still too quiet.
I've also raised the gain to the max in the Cubase LE4 mixer. Again, it helps, but not much.
This is really urgent because I've been asked to provide a voice sample and vocal sample for studio work, but they can't use the samples I'm sending them due to the low volume.
A bit of additional information: I have the input volume for the mic on the Firebox turned almost all the way up (around +25 dB). If I turn it up to +30, I get clipping. I've also boosted the input via the Presonus Control Panel. I'm exporting the mixdown as mp3. For some reason, the exported wav files don't seem to work in standard players.
Any and all advice appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
