Question about HP Photosmart 6510 Wireless e-All-in-One Printer
The printer worked fine up until 2 days ago - now it will not print black ink and will not align. All ink cartridges are new & I have cleaned the print heads with the utility 5 times, help!

SOURCE: K550 printer not printing Black
hi there is a simple solution to your problem take out the print head place just the jets( where the ink comes out) in warm water for a few seconds while it is in the water use a syringe over each breathe hole at the top of the print head (one at a time) and lightly push air into the head. this process clears any ink clog and frees up the print head and allows it to print propely

has this printer been sitting around and not been used? possible problem is that the cartridges or the jets are plugged with dried ink. use a damp paper towel and carefully wipe the bottom of the cartridges to remove any dried ink.

To solve the
# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

SOURCE: new ink cartridge won't print
Do you know for sure the original cartridge was empty? Take a clean pencil with eraser, and gently "erase" the electrical contacts on the cartridge and the printer where the 2 connect. See if that helps. If it is USB, unplug it and plug it back in. You might try to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the printer.
