Buy a big can with a hose already attached to it. The size of the can oughta do it and the dial indicator has a green area that you want to shoot for. The hose will only fit on the low side so their is no danger of can bursting. All the guesswork is taken out of the equation. BTW: the low pressure should be around 35 psi for autos.

Air conditioner blows hot air

check for a loose connection on the A/C compressor, just behind the pulley/clutch or it might need to be recharged, if the car is r134a ready then it will cost about 40 bucks to get a simple recharge kit from an auto parts store.

WHERE IS THE MAF AND VAF LOCATED ON A 2001 6 CYL

the MAF is usually located on the snorkel ( hose connecting the air box to the throttle body) should be closer to the air box. 4-5 wire connector. square shaped. clean with brake parts cleaner or carb cleaner, something that evaporates fast. sometimes cleaning it works but not always.not sure on the vaf. Hope this helps

Fuel Filter for a 2005 Subaru Outback

In 2005 Subaru moved the fuel filters to the fuel tank for both 4-cyl and 6-cyl cars. What is confusing is the statement in the owner's manual about replacement intervals; the statement actually only applies to 4-cyl cars. Even though the filter is mounted in the tank, this is still a replaceable element on 4-cyl, but not on 6-cyl. The 6-cyl filter element is part of the entire fuel pump assembly (a $300 assembly) and is not sold separately. Therefore the 6-cyl filter is intended to be a "lifetime" part, which really means it gets replaced when the fuel pump fails and the entire pump assembly is replaced.

Air conditioner

The one closest to your AC compressor... i.e. the part that the belt spins around.. Is the low side.. Not to mention, air conditioning recharge hoses ONLY FIT on the low side.. Worst case scenario, try both.. the one that it clamps down on to is the low side..
