It's not repairable unless you are competent to strip down the camera and you can get the part. There is no way of knowing if it's the inverter which supplies VERY HIGH VOLTAGE TO FLASH TUBE and beware the storage capacitor can remain charged even if the camera is off, or if it's the tube itself. The spares will cost nearly as much as a new camera. Dismantle intuitively and look for any loose cables or wires, if not an obvious loose wire then move on. Also camera is old now.

SOURCE: zoom lever (Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom Digital Camera ) does not work

If you can get to the ribbon cable that the zoom lever is attached to, you can use a multimeter or a continuity tester to see if the lever is actually shorting any traces on the ribbon. the zoom lever acts upon a motor that rotates the iner lens barrel, possible the motor lead is open or the switch under the lever is dirty/faulty.

SOURCE: Need date stamp on pics

By default Olympus cameras do not print the date on the images when they are downloaded to a PC. Olympus does not include this functionality because they feel that it detracts from image quality. There is a function of the camera called print order or print reservation that you can set that it will print the date on the images but this is only if you take the card to a photo processing store. However if you use the Camedia Master or Olympus Master software and print the images that you have previously transferred there is a check box in the print setting window that you can add the date and or time to the printed image.

SOURCE: My new memory card will not work for the Olympus Camedia D-560

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb card is not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

Got new olympus memory card, keeps saying card error

Is the memory card the correct capacity? Is it too "big"? ie is it say a 8 gig and maybe your camera only supports 4 gig? I had that problem with my camera-I had bought a memory card which was too high in capacity for it. Check your user manual for the cards and capacity you can use.

Olympus Camedia C-4000 Flash Problems.. Help Please!

The flash is malfunctioning and causing the camera to not work, the flashing lights in the viewfinder is the camera indicating the malfunction. Most likely it is a board that needs repair and that'll cost a flat rate minimum $160 from OLY.

Flash does not work.

Switch on the flash and put the camera to your ear.
If you can hear a hgh pitched whine then this uggests the flash tubs has blown
If you cannot then the capacitor more likely has failed.
It may be possible to repair - Check out the Olympus web site.

Settings that must be set before... the external flash feature

Yes, set the camera mode dial to P, A/S/M or any shooting mode except the movie mode. Turn on the extension flash unit's power then select the camera's flash mode. The flash mode button on the camera controls the built-in flash as well as the extension flash. Only the built-in flash and the Olympus FL-20/FL-40/FL-50 extension flash can use the red-eye reduction flash mode. All flash units can use the fill flash, flash off, and slow-sync flash modes.
