Question about Fellowes SB-99Ci Shredder
4 sheets of paper somehow managed to jam up the Fellowes SB-99Ci shredder, whereupon the control buttons which would normally allow you to reverse feed the paper to clear the jam did not respond. The power was then switched off (for safety reasons obviously) and the jam manually cleared, but now it won't switch back on.

SOURCE: Fellowes Shredder keeps running
You should be able to flip up the cd cover and visibly see the sensors in the center of the paper entry(look like little LED lightbulbs) Clean with a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alchohol. This should solve your problem. If it doesn't you probally have a burned out sensor. call 1-800-945-4545 to check with customer service.

there are two switches under the cutter area. 1 for sensing when your basket is full, (sometimes these bin-full flaps get stuck in the up position, energizing the switch) and the other is a switch that detects if your basket is installed. fellowes has modified these shredders so many times, that there are alot of different configurations. look for something that resembles a flap under the head and make sure its in the down position. as for the basket sensor, some baskets had 2 projections on the left and right top of basket. one may be broke. if so, you can "cheat" the switch with a screwdriver to see if thats the problem.

SOURCE: how to change gear kit
You can get a manual for this device here not sure what information the manual will provide for you would not hurt to check it out, also a good observation of what is needed to remove and replace this item is also something to write down where things go. The kit should have had instruction manual of how to install the kit. Check out the site above. Thanks for using FixYa! John
