Remove the float bowl from the carburetor and check to make sure the float needle valve is not stuck in the closed position or clogged. If it's stuck or clogged, the bowl won't fill and fuel will never make it to the combustion chamber.... IT WON'T RUN!!! LOL!!! Good luck! Hope I was able to help. Bill

Cb250 motorbike will start but wont idle!!!!

Hi,
There are usually a couple of brass jets in most of these types of carb. The main jet is obvious ( Usually in the centre) but the idle jet may not be so easy to see. Remove the brass jets and use an airline to blow air through the tiny holes to clear them. If you don't have an airline try a bit of monofilament fishing line. DON'T use wire. If you try to use wire to clean the jet you can damage the jet.
Hope this helps

Bike wont start after being stood for 3 years what needs to be done to make it run again thanks bike was runnin before it went into storage help

The gasoline need to be drained out, and new put in with some seafoam gas additive to hopefully help your fuel system cleaned up.
Fresh oil and filter.
Check the plugs.
Don't be surprised if the carb doesn't need cleaned inside.
Chatge up the battery, and give it a try

I havent started my baja mini bike since last fall and now it wont start it seems to be not getting any gas

Chances are the carb is plugged up with stale gas. The carb will need to be disassembled and thoroughly cleaned, including all passages.

Wont start after 6 mos. I changed the spark plug, drained & added fresh gas, checked the fuel filter... Kicks over fine. Ran for 4 seconds, then it died. Always ran & started great before.

With a new plug and fresh gas it should start. Check to make sure there isn't a kill switch turned off or that the gas petcock from the tank to the carb is on.

How did you check the fuel filter? Disconnecting it from the fuel line that goes to the carb is the best way, making sure the gas is turned on under the tank. Bleed off a little gas into a can or something just to make sure the filter isn't plugged.

The last thing I'd do is take off the air filter and spray a little starting fluid in the carb. It may start and run several times if there is old gas in there somewhere. Remember the bowl on the carb is probably still full of old gas. After some fresh fuel reaches the plug it should start and continue to run.

(You might drain the bowl on the carb of ols gas before you go any further)

Good luck!

2003 883 sportster wont start

What u are describing is typical of a faulty ignition system, but could also be a fuel problem. I check by removing the aircleaner and rotating the throttle. If u see a nice spray of fuel, thats probably not the problem. Check for a spark at the plugs. I can explain how if you need me to. If you cant see a good spark, U have an electrical problem. I had a crank position sensor go bad on me. Dont do what I did (replaced the battery, ignition, and regulator as part of my diagnosis procedure)
