It's probably not a good idea to do that - the manufacturer designed it to cut 10", and it probably works much better at 10" than at any other diameter.

Tip: The max point reward for answering a question is 15.
Mine is programmed to return to recharge without cutting. It starts with an edge cut on the days programmed. It also cuts the edge when commanded manually.
Basically you will take the "large knob" cover off, tighten the bar tension and put the cover back on. This will provide you with additional adjustment tension as needed.
If you only need the manual to look up parts try a website called ereplacementparts.com they have diagrams and part numbers for alot of stuff and you can look up by the model number of your tools or equipment
