Because there are no apparent screws to remove the front of this unit it can be very confusing if you have not done it before. Underneath and to the right hand side you will find a small notch in the plastic, it can be difficult to see when the unit is on the wall, using a small terminal screwdriver push upwards on the plastic tab which locks the front in place and with a slightly larger flat bladed screwdriver prise the front off bottom first then the two locking tabs at the top.
You will probably find that the back case is fastened to the wall with two screws.
Replacement is simply a matter of snapping the front back into the case.

In my case there was very little clearance below, so I used a have-duty unbent paper clip as a short tool to poke through the notch (it's at the back of the bottom of the unit, just where one of the possible cable entries is). The paper clip pushes a plastic clip, of the sort used in all sorts of clipped-together devices, not visible from the outside. In my case no need to pry with bigger screwdriver, easily pulled off by hand.

Manual says the plug in module can be removed by depressing a locking catch with a screwdiver...but where the catch is I don't know...not visible on mine. I also want to remove it to replace the battery.

Sounds like a glitche in the thermostat. First, override the program & see if it does the same thing over the next few days.

Can you replace a danfoss TP9 with a honeywell ST699

I believe the TP9 is a programmable thermostat.

While it appears the ST699 is a timer that connects to a thermostat.

So yes, they both control 230Volt boiler-and-pump. But there are differences.
Google search each item and include .pdf in search parameter to find product manual for each, and then compare wiring differences.

Replacing an ST699 with a ST9400C following repl wiring diagram, but programmer does not come on. Is the diagram incorrect? Wiring colours do not follow any of the plans. Syst has room stat, cyl stat,...

Disregard wire colors. Instead wire by terminal designation. In other words :
Wire on "R" Terminal on old thermostat to "R" Terminal on new thermostat no matter the color.

If you go to your local home depot, and get a new thermostat, it will come with different diagrams for wiring in the instructions that are pretty easy to understand. I hope this helps.

yep the wires will hook up to the same designations, just write down what color was connected where. You will need to set the thermostat up for your particular situation...gas, electric, heat pump, ect. The installation maunel is very clear on this aspect so you should not have a problem.
