But how can i reset cmos in this model Toshiba A100-208?

    Thanks for your answer.

  • manuel_ramos Jun 30, 2009

I´m expert in notebooks, i´m repairing all models to componente level, this notebook is completely disassembled.

    I already try:

    - C88 to short, in this model i can not find it.

    - Short PDA500 under de memory, not solve the problem

    - the battery setup is removing since a long time, no results too.

If you or somebody have any ideas it will be fine.

    Thanks

    Bios password

The motherboard bios password could be wiped on the toshiba equiums by removing the ram and wlan card and then shorting out the two contacts marked C88 with an X next to them...you might want to google that bit of advice to double check if it will work on that laptop before you attempt it. I AM assuming that you own this laptop in giving this advice

The password on the hard drive cannot be wiped.. and as this was designed to prevent data theft probably you would need to return the drive to toshiba or one of their agents proving you owned it

    Here's how to reset password

Resetting a Toshiba BIOS Password KeyDisk will reset the BIOS password on Toshiba laptops.
Older Toshiba laptops can be convinced to boot without their power-on BIOS password by attaching a dongle to the parallel port which crosses a number of the pins. The pin out is:
Pins 1-5-10 2-11 3-17 4-12 6-16 7-13 8-14 9-15 Some Toshiba's can be convinced to bypass the startup BIOS password if you hold down the <LEFT-SHIFT> key while booting the system.

    TOSHIBA Satellite A205-S4617 Bios Prob.

i got this some where but dont know if it will work for yr model.
like they say there's no harm in trial u can as well try these out is for a diff model of toshiba but i guess they all use related chips. so folow these instructions

Remove the piece of plastic above the keyboard. Unscrew the 2 screws in the keyboard and lift the keyboard up( No reason to disconnect it ) Unscrew and remove the modem card in the center. There is 2 solder points c88 on the system board. You need to short those 2 points out while you press the power button on. This will reset the bios password. This should take someone about 5 minutes to do.
    guess this works
    thank u
