Any PATA(ata-6) 2.5 inch harddrive should be compatible. I believe those shipped with a 20gig drive. You can find a drive on newegg or a local retailer.
Western digital makes decent drives, you can get a 320gig for around 80 dollars.
For that type of "rugged" pc , a SSD(solid state drive) would be ideal , but I havent seen any that use the old pata interface.
Also , did your PC come with one of these? hi, i have bought a twinhead P14N laptop and it is - 8ed5563.jpg

Good luck.

Hi There. I have a NEC Versa E2000 notebook that runs on a Windows XP Home Edition platform. The Operating system continually says it is not available. I've checked the BIOS and it tells me the Primary HDD...

you need to contact the previous owner to ask them if they know the hard drive and/or supervisor password, without the password the hard drive is useless, you might as well buy a new one

Please leave feedback for me if this helped you

Hi, i buy used laptop L355D-S7815 without hard disk i put a new 1 work fine but i don`t know if must have a caddy or something else because feel like is loose please help. thanks.

Some laptops need a caddy, but if the hard drive can fit in without a caddy then don't worry about it. If the drive is a bit loose then wrap or add some paper around the hard drive to stop it moving about.

Need to install operating system on laptop with no cd rom or driv

I believe this model of laptop was designed for Windows 95, which can be installed using only floppy disks. That would be just about your only solution. I would not recommend trying to install XP or anything on it, due to the outdated hardware. If it has a PCMCIA Slot on it (most do) you can buy a USB adapter that goes in there. But, as I stated before, I would just install Windows 95 on it (or possibly 98SE) Good Luck!

How to upgrade my twinhead notebook hard disk?

I've never had the pleasure of working on one of these. What I do when trying to find the hard drive in a machine I'm not familiar with is put my ear down to the machine, start it, and listen for the hard drive to kick in. This let's me know where it is, then I look the machine over to figure out how to get to it systematically. On most laptops, there is a cover on the bottom or the side that hides the hard drive. If on the side, it's generally a caddy that is held by a screw on the bottom, and the hard drive slides out with it. On some models they put the hard drive under the keyboard or palm rest/touch pad. So, listen to find out the location of the drive, then look for a cover on the side or bottom in that area. If there's not a cover, then remove the keyboard and check if you can see it. I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, unfortunately there's no manuals on line, but I hope this helps, and get you started in the right direction.
