WHY THE FAN IN MY WALK-IN COOLER GETS FROZEN

WHY THE FAN IN MY WALK-IN COOLER GETS FROZEN AND IT DOESN'T KEEP THE ROOM COLD ANY MORE?

I need to know what brand walk in cooler you have. Also when you say the fan is frozen is your meaning frozen with ice or stuck and not moving. Most older style walk in coolers use R-22 freon. They have a thermostat that turns the compressor off so the water will drip down a drain to exit the cooler. If the thermostat is stuck and does not turn the compressor off then ice will build up and possibly cause your problem. Now if you have a digital camera and can send me model numbers and photos of what is happening that will help a lot. You can call me if you want and I will advise you on what to look for and help you get this fixed. My number is 864-487-4851 my email is appliancepartsse@yahoo.com My website ishttp://servicepartstec.blogspot.com/ Let me know, Sea Breeze

Check the settings of the pressure control or if the fan is operating or if it has a defrost timer if the coil ices up the fan cannot pull air over the coil thus loosing cooling effect. possibly call a local tech im in logan city brisbane if that helps?

Cant keep cool

You need to check that tour filters are new. Then check that air is coming from the vents and is at least 15 degrees cooler than room temp. If no air coil is frozen, or blower motor and run cap are not working. If frozen than turn system to off and fan switch is on until you feel air through vents.
You'll need to make sure the outside unit is runing and the larger copper line is cold like a can soda. If it's cold but is freezing up, it needs to have a charge added. If its running but not cold and the fan is not running or the compressor isn't running it could have a blown capacitor. If its not running at all check. the circuit breakers and reset them. And a good idea to keep the outside unit washed with water, and that it is clear of weeds and stuff.

Is it safe to take my digital slr out into -C temperatures and then back indoors into the warmth? I am worried that there will be condensation in the body and it will corrode.

You're right to worry. Get yourself a cooler(the kind that holds a 6-pack) and put some silica gel packets in the bottom. When you're finished taking pictures in the cold, put the camera in the cooler and keep it closed for at least half an hour after coming in form the cold. That way, it reaches room temp slowly and any stray moisture gets absorbed by the silica gel packets.

the most common problem is that one or both cooling fans has failed. If you have the newer version, you can get replacement fans anywhere computer parts are sold

Fan blower coleman electric cooler

The fan should blow air into the heat sink. The warm air exits the heat sink at both ends. (It might work the other way, haven't tried it.)

When you have ice in your cooler, you know the thermo-electric element is working well--it's below freezing!

Ice builds up because there is water in the cooler. For example, in humid weather, you open the cooler, some humid air gets in, and the cooler temperature condenses the water. You have to empty this water, either by tipping the cooler, or using a sponge.

You can easily defrost the cooler by unplugging it for an hour or so. You know it's time to defrost when you hear the fan blades making a racket because they're hitting something--a thick buildup of ice.
