Hopefully, you have backed up your critical data. Run Windows Repair: Change your setup to boot from the CD ROM, insert your Windows disk and run a repair.. Good luck.

You will need to format your hard drive and reload the windows operating system and load your software.
You also may need a new hard drive.
If the hard drive is full it may not load.

If you get blue screen while booting in safe mode you can try a few more steps:
-Unplug all the peripherals plugged with the cmputer.
-press F8 when you turn on.
- try last known good configration and see if it works.
-if it doesnt then try safe mode with command prompt
-if it works boot in safe mode with command prompt
-At the command prompt, type %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe, and then press ENTER.
-Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to restore your computer to a date when it was working fine.
If this doesnot works you will need to do a recovery you can do that if you have a recovery partiton on your system.
Or get a windows disc to repair your operating system.

My screen is blue and I dont have the disk

Try running the restore software that is built into the computer on the protected partition; this is usually available by pushing the "F10" key upon boot up, that is, as soon as you see the dell logo on the screen, push the "F10" key. You could also try to boot the computer into "SafeMode" by pushing the "F8" key at boot up. Safemode will only offer a limited repair option but it will allow you access to diagnostic and repair options in windows.

MY COMPUTER SCREEN IS SHOWING BLUE

This is more than likely a fault in the operating system, if you can boot in safemode you can try running a restore

To do this

1. boot in safemode with command prompt
2. when cmd comes up
3. type rstrui.exe

That will guide you through what you need to do.

If that fails then try typing into that command prompt :

chkdsk /r /f
(if your on xp TRY : fixboot)

If your still getting the bluescreen im afraid you will have to reformat your pc which means you will lose your data so get a backup if you can get into safemode.

My computer screen turns blue and restarts window vista

Hi jjlishus,

I see you mentioned that you are having issues with you computer going into a blue screen then it restarts.

You can try to boot into safe mode to see if Windows Vista will Load without having the bluescreen and if it will not shut down or restart, from Safe Mode, try and do a system restore to a data where the problem has not happened yet.

From there-on see if the issue will still happen or no

Getting into Safemode:
restart PC keep on tapping F8 on your Keyboard this will prompt you options, Look for Safemode then press enter this should bring up the safemode screen.

If during the loading of safemode and still happens are any error show up or it goes to a blue screen, you can try going into safemode with command prompt.
to get to safemode in command prompt just do the same as ging into safemode and select safemode in command prompt.

once in the command prompt
Type CHKDSK , then press enter it should check the system for 5 mins or so depending on your PC/Laptops speed.

if still the issue is the same reformatting or restoring your windows back to defaults may fix the issue.

I hope that this will help,

My laptop has power but wont boot...please help

hi,

Try to boot you computer to safemode, turn off computer then turn it back on then keep on tapping F8, then choose safemode, if youre able to boot to safemode, do system restore going back to the time that its properly working, click start > all programs > accesories> system tools > system restore then pick a date when you think that its properly working..

If its not able to boot to safemode, you will need to reinstall the operating system using the recovery disc that came with the computer.

Hope this will help... Please rate...

Acer Aspire X1700 Desktop Wont Start up Shut down with blue Protection screen

That's Blue Screen of Death. Start up ur pc in safemode by pressing F8 key while booting and uninstall any recent hardware or software installations. Or try System Restore to an earlier date. If u failed to boot up ur pc even in Safemode, make a clean and fresh OS installation.

I cant get my computer to fully boot up

This might happen if you install McAfee with applications running, or not restarting Windows, etc. I am not sure why you couldn't boot in Safemode, booting in safemode is exactly what you need to do to uninstall McAfee.

E-machine gets the blue screen that says.....stop 0x0000007E(0xC0000005, 0x8053A593) what does this mean

A registry error or device driver is causing this. Attempt a boot to safemode by tapping f8 after the computer boot logo screen and before the windows logo screen.

if you can't boot to safemode then try the same key sequence but select "last known good configuration". If this does not work, then you will have to repair reinstall the operating system.

if you can get in safemode or last known config, make sure to run a spyware/virus check if you didnt' install any programs, devices or used a registry cleaner like CCleaner

Registry problem

You know how to get to the safe mode option. Well get to that screen and try last known good configuration. What this does it takes restores everything up to where you last logged on your computer successfully. If that doesn't work run the windows disk, delete the partition and start fresh. If that is a no go you have a hardware problem most likely.
