For sure your TV. But you still have to replace your Antenna Cable, if not the LNB as well. The LNB is the "EYE" in front of the Dish. You do not have to replace the Dish.

SOURCE: struck by lightning and won't power up

WOW!
Warranty voider there.
Hate to see a $1,000 TV go down the toilet.
If your lucky, you can try checking the fuses inside the TV.
The lightning may have taking out only your power supply board, shopjimmy.com may have replacements for about $100. But, I can't tell you for sure that will fix the problem.
You may have to take to a repair shop to find out for sure.
Good Luck

Everything working fine, then home screen no longer displays on TV. On startup, pink dots go across TV screen, then TV goes black. Signal from most recent input is not coming trhough the audio or TV.

I have the same problem. I have an LG lcd tv as well. I have my cable box connected to via hdmi into the reciever then from reciever to the tv via another hdmi cable. I can watch tv and like the problem above see the pink dots on boot-up but I can't get the home screen to display.

ILO 42" flat screen I think was struck by lightening and now there is no color. Is there anything I can do to fix myself?

tried to reset the tv first, if struck by lightning the tuner will be damaged or the main board but since the tv is still working so i think not the lightning was the main cause.

We think that the t.v. may have been struck by lightning, but it turns on. However we don't see anything but the static screen, and don't hear any sound.

I would check your connections first. If I tune my 2006 Sony TV to static there is no audio also. I would go through and check all the connections. If you are connected via HDMI cable you can try replacing that cable with a new one. If still no luck you can always return the cable. Hope this helps!

I have a 58'' HP Pavillion Projection screen TV. It was struck by lightning. the power cord is good. It will not turn on at all, no fans running, etc. What do you think I will have to fix?

As u have just said that it was struck by lightning the only way to get the TV back working is to replace burnt items on the moterboard .becouse lightning must have demaged some components on the power supply, if possible i would preffer a new power supply board

Lightning Strike?

Assuming this line is across the screen horizontally (side to side), this means the vertical deflection circuitry is dead. In late model sets, there is a Integrated circuit package which drives the vertical yoke coils. Possible defects: the I.C. itself, bad solder connections where it solders to the board, missing voltage source to this I.C. (often around +24 volts), or a bad electrolytic capacitor in the associated circuitry. This latter often results in a non-linear picture, or less than full deflection condition, rather than a thin line only. It is possible lightning caused this problem, (I've seen some rather illogical damage from lightning ) perhaps it produced enough of a surge to pop the I.C. or a fusible resistor in that voltage source noted above.

Lightning hit last night tv won't work cable company says it's in the television

Sorry to here about your problem! This is the time of year I used to get tons and tons of sets, stereos ,games, and vcrs in for repair. On your panasonic it seems that maybe the surge took out the tuner portion or the power supply. It sould cost aprox. 200 bucks or so for a new tuner. Im sure your aware that homeowners will cover almost all repair after the deductable. Good Luck
