Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

It is National fully automatic washing machine. It has been working fine for the past 7 years. But for the couple of month it has lost control over fucntions, i.e. it starts a fucntions and doesnot switch to other fuction automatically, it keeps on doing the same thing unless stopped manually. Any suggestions please. Thanks.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question

My videocon fully automatic washing machine (45FDx) is 7 years old. It is continuously showing E2 error. I have called the company technician but not of much use. Can u help pleae?

This can be due to a error in the control panel, You can switch off, remove the front panel and check for moisture on the panel, if so use a dryer to ward off the moisture. Also check the connections on the board. If the fault reoccurs then you might need to replace the panel board.Make sure the door switch, inlet valve and drains are clean.

My Whirlpool Fully Automatic Washing machine has some problem with WASH process, the agitator is not all working but the SPIN process, SOAK process are going on fine. Some scratching sound was heard from...

Most Whirlpool washers have ratchet type pawls in the agitator. If it is like mine, the top of the agitator pops off where you would ad softener detergent (in the center top of the agitator) and you will see the ratchet pawls inside the agitator. Mine we worn out and doing the same thing. I replaced mine and the unit is working fine now.

One says the lid switchs are not working in tandem with each other. Another says the circuit board is bad. I say it is because it is a Maytag and built with an obsolete ethical plan for generating profit.

it sounds like you have a broken motor coupling. disconnect power supply unscrew 2 screw on each end of backside of control panel, flip control panel to back, remove lid swt connection and pry up the 2 clips that hold cabinet. remove cabinet, on bottom of front you'll see the pump and motor. pry off the 2 clamps that hold on pump you can tie pump to side to keep out of you way don't disconnect hoses. remove 2 1/4 in screw that hold clamp to motor and remove motor clamps pull mtr to front and pry off coupling from shaft of mtr and transmission.replace coupling pn 285753a for about $10 .reverse procedure to install
