Hi, I am trying to flash a cwm recovery for blu dash 5.0 ( a mediatek based device MT6572). There is no official cwm recovery for my device however I found a recovery on CDA developers that works with MT6572 devices. Here is my phone info: Model No.: BLU DASH 5.0 Android version: 4.2.2 Baseband ver: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V1 Kernel ver: 3.4.5 Build No.: BLU-D410a-V08-Generic 17-10-2013. I downloaded recoverycwm-evos7.IMG to my sdcard. When I went to my sdcard and clicked on it, I was automatically transferred into ROM installer app by jrummy with the option to to flash it. But before I did anything, the flash script read: 1 #!/system/bin/sh 2 ########################## 3 # 4 # flash recovery 5 # 6 7 8 # ERROR: cannot locate recovery partition. How do I fix this? A custom recovery is a third-party recovery environment. Flashing this recovery environment onto your device replaces the default, stock recovery environment with a third-party, customized recovery environment. This is a bit like flashing a custom ROM like CyanogenMod - but, instead of replacing your device's Android operating system, it replaces the recovery environment.

A custom recovery environment will do the same things as the stock Android recovery. However, it will also have additional features. To flash any Samsung device, you need Odin for Windows or Heimdal for Mac or Linux. If by any chance your device happens robe rooted, then you can flash by the custom recovery or download Flasify from the PlayStore.

Reflash cwm or flash twrp. Have you cleared cache in fastboot?

1) Use Uberizer v1.6, not the newest one (there's an issue with the newest one restoring the backup from these machines).

2) Menu "i - A1X Firmware Menu" then submenu "3 - Dump A1X firmware..." and don't EVER change the files it creates!

3) For my restore, I did not use any of the other files that you should pull, so I'm not listing them here. But you SHOULD take those steps.

4) Once I have that, I'm good-to-go to try to flash any ROMs using LiveSuit. MOST of them do not work well on this tablet, but I made a list of those that are at least better than "don't work at all".

5) When your playtime is over and you want your tablet back, I discovered ONE ROM that is ICS and absolutely AWESOMELY beautiful on this tablet. It has only two issues. The first is that it has the same issues that everybody states regarding the volume buttons... they don't work right. The other is that it has the stock Android recovery in it instead of CWM Recovery. But that's fine! When you replace your own backup back into the tablet, YOUR backup ROM files do know the correct configuration and all will be well again. That magical ROM is: "A13_sun5i_android_a13-evb-Q8-mxc622x-20121012_By_Kaindarkheart_[TechKnowForum.net]". Go ahead and flash it to your tablet using LiveSuit. Play with the tablet using this ROM, it's VERY sleek!

- But like me, you'll probably figure that since it's ICS, you may as well have your old ICS back that knew how your volume buttons worked. The chore is easy enough...

6) Menu "i - A1X Firmware Menu" then submenu "4 - Restore A1X firmware..." FOLLOW EVERY INSTRUCTION IT HAS PRECISELY!

- Pay especially close attention to that last instruction that says to use the Uberizer to restart your tablet. It is Menu "r - Reboot device". I don't know if this is magical or not, but the FIRST time that I tried this, I did not use that option and then never really was able to get my tablet working again.

7) And in conclusion... when you restart your tablet it will be EXACTLY like it was when you bought it with the exception of having the CWM Recovery installed rather than the Android stock ROM's recovery. I played with this and swapped in my recovery back into its place using the ADB shell command "dd if=/mnt/extsd/recovery.img of=/dev/block/nandg" after I copied the original recovery.img from the backup made in step #2 above onto my external SD card. You might want to backup up CWM via "dd if=/dev/block/nandg of="/mnt/extsd/cwm_recovery.img" first if you want to easily go back-and-forth though.

Only then was I able to complete the install. I have found that some OTA updates mess up your ability to use past developed builds. So confirm your update version as well to see if compatibility of update versions have been addressed.

after that put the phone in to system recovery by pressing volume up+home botton+power..

in CWM recovery wipe data and cache,.

after that select install zip from sd card choose jelly blast GenEd.signed zip

choose yes


reboot device. done.

Well, obviously you've lost your CWM and root. Re-flash the kernel with CWM using Odin. The second thing is that you have used wrong image to flash. I'd suggest to restore old one or re-flash use proper image (include root/CWM)
