Question about Canon PIXMA MP150 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have the same problem. Canon MP830 w/Navigator 2.2 running Vista Ultimate. I get scan failed when I try to use Navigator. I can use the Windows scan program and it works.
I emailed support, and I have uninstalled everything Canon. Unplugged USB and rebooted. Reinstalled new Printer Drivers from Canon Website and new version of MP Navigator 2.2. Same issue, scan failed!
I am waiting to here back from Canon. It had worked on my machine for over 1 year and now it wont. I keep my machine updated regularly so it must of been some new recent update. The only thing new I have installed from a software stantpoint is Blackberry Desktop Software.
I have tried the system variable fix that others on the web have report working and also updating the driver manually...both of those didnt work.
I can print and fax great....no scanning. I will post the results of the canon support call.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Mp navigator 2.2
The sticker on the box was added on (the MP830 came out a year before Windows Vista came out) and indicates that the hardware is Windows Vista certified. You can download Vista compatible drivers and MP Navigator here. (MP Navigator is under the Software heading, once you select the OS.)

SOURCE: Canon MP150 scanner problem.
I had the EXACT same problem at first and I somehow solved it. All I did was restart the computer, unplug the cables and replugged them again. Started MP navigator and it worked!
Hope this will help.

at 1st glance it sounds like the printer has failed. have you tried another printer to verify the that usb connection for your computer is functioning properly? if you don't have another printer find something else that utilizes usb & test it that way. i.e. digital camera or mp3 player. i have seen computers that will say they're communicating with a faulty peripheral Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 , when in fact they are not. it's just another 1 of those annoying windows quirks. let me know if you need further assistance.
