Windows uses virutal memory when there is insufficient physical memory.. A Dell dimension 2400 running windows XP will run very well with 1GB of memory available for under 40 bucks. A wise investment. You windows virtual memory settings should be set to automatic. Click START, right click on MY COMPUTER, click properties, click advanced, then click performance settings, then click advanced again, then click change virtual memory settings., Click SYSTEM MANAGED SIZE and then ok and close out all dialog boxes.. Thsi will allow WINDOWS to utilize the maximum available physical memory to run applications..
My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory > Change > Select Any Drive > Custom size > type atleast 3000 in initial size & 3500 in maximize size in you have enough space in the drive you selected earlier......you can type more but no game or software need more than that > Set > OK ...... You may need to reboot your PC then
I hope this will solve your problem & speed up your PC.

I forgot to say in my last post that I do know about using Cntrl-+ or scroll to enlarge type size on the page. It just seems that setting the page width right, as you told me, wouldn't minimize the font size. ~Chuck
