1

Press "Start," followed by "Control Panel." Click the "System and Security" option, then "Security." Click "Advanced System Settings" to open the Windows System Properties screen.
2

Select "Settings" from the Performance tier. Click "Advanced," followed by "Change" from the Virtual Memory tier.
3

Enable "Automatically Manage Paging File Size For All Drives." Such option allows Windows 7 to automatically lend virtual memory to any application as necessary. To fix a low virtual memory issue manually, deselect this option and enable "Custom Size" instead.
4

Input a desired amount of virtual memory to be used by system processes in the "Initial Size" and "Maximum Size" fields, respectively. Click "Set," then "OK" to save all changes

Windows uses virutal memory when there is insufficient physical memory.. A Dell dimension 2400 running windows XP will run very well with 1GB of memory available for under 40 bucks. A wise investment. You windows virtual memory settings should be set to automatic. Click START, right click on MY COMPUTER, click properties, click advanced, then click performance settings, then click advanced again, then click change virtual memory settings., Click SYSTEM MANAGED SIZE and then ok and close out all dialog boxes.. Thsi will allow WINDOWS to utilize the maximum available physical memory to run applications..

My computer is getting slow when right button of the mouse is selected

The Virtual Memory on your system may be low and could cause your mouse clicks to respond slowly. Also you virtual memory size is directly related to your RAM size. For Better functionality, your Virtual memory should be 1.5 time the RAM size (150% RAM Size).

To check if the memory is the cause of your problem, right click your task bar (Task bar is the lower ribon at the bottom of your screen), click on start task manager. on the Open window, click on the perfoemance tab. If you have used up more than 90% of physical memory usage, your system will perform slogishly.

To check the Virtual Memory, right click my computer Advanced ( or Advanced system setting if you are using win7), on the performnace menu, click on settings, check to see if the "let Windowns choose what's best for my computer" is selected if not select it. click ok and close all the open windows.

My you tube is not working properly its very slow

Check all your programs if they are running slow also. The problem is usually caused by a low virtual memory. You can fix it by upgrading the virtual memory into a higher value.

Opening programs is so slow virtual memory running low

which operating system you are using and what is the ram capacity? and onemore thing to check what is your virtual memory capacity. for that

Right click "mycomputer" > properties > advanced >click settings on performance > in advanced tab > increase virtual memory file size.
generally its size is ram capacity * 2 (ex: for 512mb its virtual memory size is 1GB) check that and we can increase the file size also.

Windows XP Virtual Memory is low. How can I regain memory?

Virtual memory is "memory" on your hard drive, not actual memory. The best way to regain this is reboot and shut down some of the stuff that runs automatically when you DO boot up.

(This Virtual memory is space set aside on your hard drive that the processor moves data into and out of like it would put data on a memory module ... but in comparing the two, the virtual memory is SLOW.)

You can increase the size of your virtual memory to anything you want. Some say too large a allocation will slow you down and too little will cause crashing or slow opertion. You are 99.44% probably set to let Windows manage your virtual memory (default) at this time.

I was on the internet the other night an a popup said that my memory was low so what should i do an its really slow...

Hello,
If too many applications are running in the background memory is reduced. Verify that you let Windows manage the paging memory.

For WINXP
Rigt click My computer on desktop.
Click Properties
Advanced Tab Click on Performance Settings.
Under Visual effects you may ask OS to adjust for best performance Under Tab Advanced make sure that Processor scheduling and Memory usage are set for Programs.
Verify on same tab that virtual memory is about equal to physical memory (or just let windows manage it)

Hope it helps

Temporary Internet Files

Temporary internet files could harm your pc if the files contents virus, this could also slow your pc because if you have files that was infected with virus specifically the application files. Those files were automatically load into the services and in the processes and also in the start up without your consent. If all these files will run in the system this will cause " a low virtual memory" because the memory speicified was use by these useless and annoying application.

If you encounter these problem i would suggest that scan you computer with a potent antivirus, you should empty the temporary files and the recycled bin.

If you are sure that the computer is virus free and still encountering the "low virtual memory" you can increase your virtual memory by doing these:

1 right click my computer and then properties
2. click the advance tab
3. in the performance., click setting
4. then " advance tab"
5. in the virtual memory click change
6. check custom setting
7. in the initial size double the size of your memory
7. maximum double the initial size you setted.

If these will not solve the problem i would recommend you to format and reinstall your system.

Hope this help
