Can I put a 4x/8x AGP card on this motherboard? Also can I upgrade the memory to 1 Gig of PC2100 SDram Non-ecc unbuffered?

The AGP (graphics port) only takes 4x on this motherboard, you can upgrade the memory as far as 2 gig, so yes you can upgrade the memory to 1 gig pc2100.

you should have atleast a 400watt pwr supply for gaming, if this fails try upgrading your video card to 1 gig ddr video card.

Graphic card for GA-8IPE1000 series

HI there.
There are loads of makers of memory and graphics cards out there to choose from.
For the ram i would recommend Corsair or Kingston, you can get this ram as a matching pair so the both run at the same speed, the best ram to get is DDR 400.
As for the graphics card, i recommend ATI radeon X1650 Pro 512MB graphics card.
These upgrades will make your machine purr like a kitten with an excellent gaming experience.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Wont boot 2 windows xp home when 2 gig memory installed, works with 1 gig, tried both slots with both 1 gig sticks.Screen goes black.

Seems the memory is not comatable with the motherboard. Replace the old memory and visit http://www.crucial.com, they have a scanner tool which will confirm what mem can be installed.

Hello again,

nowadays asus and Geforce are the markets leader ... I would suggest to go any of these by dependin on the features...

1. Memory
2.Additional features
3.Cost (Expense)

If u Find asus cost a little lower than Geforce then go for it, As it has additional feautures.

Hi,

Kindly give a feed back to Improve my statistics and to see If it was helpful for you...
Thanks and Regards

GeForce 7600GS AGP 512MB card compatibility

it's hard to know,  it may be best to take your pc into a computer store and get them to test the compatability before you take it out of the store,  that way you can be sure that it works
