Question about Samsung SCH-u740 Cellular Phone

Samsung u740 some music not loading.

When I copy songs over to my memory card, most of them normally load in the MyMusic and play fine. I have come across about 3 or 4 songs of mine that when I copy them over the same way, will not be found when MyMusic is loaded, and cannot play them. When browsing the memory card through the phone, it lists the songs with the correct music icon. Any idea why this is happening?

Also, the songs are the same format and do not have anything awkward in ID3.

I was having the same problem with custom ringers too... some files just would not play. They would even play in preview mode, but wouldn't ring when the phone was being called. From what I could tell, it was having problems with certain bitrates of files, or variable bitrate files.

My solution: I found that 192kbps works 100% of the time and sounds great, so I just dumped them into my copy of Nero Wave Editor and saved them as such. No more issue!

It sounds like those songs are not MP3 format. In order for your phone to play the music you have to make sure they are MP3. You could be saving WMA which will not play or show on card from phone.

Memory card. !! please help );

Don't know much about the Samsung phone; Can you put music on the 1 Gb memory card from another source (like a computer) and have it recognized by the phone?
Does the phone require music in a particular format? For example, if the phone recognizes .mp3 music files, but all your music is in Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) files, you will not be able to play them on the phone.

1) Find the Samsung phone manual (online?) and see if it requires music files to be in one format, or another.

2) Try loading music, in the proper format, from different sources onto your memory card.

Best of luck!

How do you download music from our computer to the

It is hard to provide any useful suggestions without knowing the type of cell phone your son is using.

Normally he would put the memory card in the cell phone microSD slot (provided it can support 2gb card), plug the USB cable from computer to cell phone (if it supports this). Normally the phone will have also got some software apps CD which should be loaded to computer. This will provide the necessary functions to load music files to the phone.

Alternative to USB is bluetooth connection which both the computer and the cell phone will have to support. He can transfer music files that way.

I am not sure if he can copy the files directly from the computer to the memory card and play it on the cell phone as data formats are not standard. Also iTunes files need to converted to mp3 format. If these are protected iTunes files then it becomes a bit harder - best to burn a CD and then rip into mp3 format.

Once again these suggestions are useless if cell phone cannot play music (mp3 or WMA etc) files, does not have microSD slot, does not have USB or bluetooth support.

Downloading to a zte c79

i JUST bought this phone, and got very frustrated trying to download music into the music player. Drag and drop your music files from your pc into your "my music" folder. They DO NOT show up right away, this is why i got pissed. I figured I was doing something wrong. I had the card in my phone, and my phone plugged into the usb port. They finally showed up on my phone after I took the card out and put it back in. As far as saving them for ringtones, I am pretty pissed that I can't do it. I am thinking Metro wants us to pay for them. That is such b&*%$#*!

Samsung u740 phone and itunes

Unfortunatly store reps have mostly only one thing in mind and that is to sell, sell, sell. Itunes uses a protect format called aac. which is unable to be played unless it is converted, the samsung alias (aka u740) does play MP3 format. My suggestion to you would be to use a program called Daniusoft Media Converter, to convert the music you have to mp3 and then transfer them to your phone via memory card or Verizons Music Essentials kit.
