I have a Robert Shaw thermostat and it converted to celsius degrees. How do I program it for farenheit???

The thermostat is preset to display the temperature in degrees
Fahrenheit (US models) or degrees Celsius (Canadian models). The
temperature display can be changed. Press and hold both the
?° and ?°Ÿbutton for three seconds. The display will read F or C.
Release buttons. Press the ?° or ?°Ÿbutton to switch the display.

We had a reverse problem with our Robert Shaw thermostat we left the thermostat setting at 52 so the pipes wont freeze we wore gone for a week, when we got back the up-stairs wore over 100 the thermostat...

Same thing happened to mine, it was replaced and the new one did the same thing about a year later. Needless to say it was no longer under warranty, which is no problem as I will not have another Robertshaw 9420 installed in my home. Very dangerous, especially if you are not home and it goes up to 99 or higher...

My Robertshaw 9600 displays 99 degrees and because it is satisfied, is not calling for heat. The temp is actually in the lo 60's and falling. I've tried battery replacement, but nothing changed. Other...

Hmm. I don't think it posted the first time around. So I'll try again.

There is a temperature sensing diode on the back side of this thermostat's circuit board. This diode may have failed or become disconnected.

I'd lean towards its having become disconnected, as I've been inside an example of this Robertshaw (originally Maple/Chase) 9600 thermostat and noticed that the soldering on this part was of poor quality. So if you have a soldering iron, and know how to use it, you could probably fix it.

I have a web page (just the facts, no ads, malware or fluff) that talks of some other common problems with this thermostat and how to fix them:

Thermostat wont turn on heater Robert Shaw 9600 prog.

I have a thermostat 9600 Robertshaw and I have to use the trip switch to start my furnace. Then it reaches the temperature and sometimes it will kick in by itself but majority of the time I have to trip it. I have changed the batteries cleaned the thermostat, and reset it. Is it time for a new thermostat and can I replace it myself. Thanks
