Good news!!

Just got to the ASUS website and you can get to all of it's drivers. I have also searched and wasn't able to find any solution until I noticed it on their website. GO to the drivers section and click on barebone and you will see Degatto D1.

Happy reformatting guys!!

Yes, that's obvious if u re-installed the OS. you have to setup the sounds and vga also (and sometimes network card drive).
Don't you have the Motherboard driver CD?
This d1400T is not listed anywhere in the Asus list..
Download this tool and Run it while you are online and identify the model. Then go here and download the drivers.
If this solution helps you, please kindly rate the answer. :) Good Luck!!!

I reformat my desktop computer with windows xp svc pack 2 . the problem have no sound . the motherboard is asustek model p4pe-xte .kindly give me solution

Hi,
If you have formatted your computer then the problem might be because the drivers for sound are not yet installed.
Please install the sound drivers and that should take care of the issue.
Right click on "My computer" --> Properties --> Hardware tab --> Device Manager
Under device manager, check the sound devices.. there might be a red cross (X) or Question mark (?) or a exclamation mark (!) indicating problem with the drivers .. just right click on the device and select update drivers and that should take care of it or if you have a sound driver CD/DVD, insert the same in the optical drive and install.

Let me know if that helps.

Regards,
Srinivas

I have a HDD that crashed that was in my custom rig. I am swapping in a HDD out of a Gateway PC. They both have Windows XP Home edition on them with SP3 updates. The problem is that the Windows XP...

The link for the drivers are:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=K8V

And, Yes, it is completely safe to do that, but just make sure in the process of moving your HDD, do not send a static shock to it because it will fry it and make it lead to many failures. (This has happened to me before when I reformatted a computer and swapped it in computers)
