Question about Acer Aspire One AOA110-1588 Notebook

No internet, task bar and strange "window" on my desktop...

I am running linpuslite with an 8g ssd. When I boot the machine, I do not see the task bar. I cannot access the internet or get "network connections" to initialize. I see a small(1"x3")"window"that has a 10 point "star" in the center of it. When I hover my mouse over it, a dialog box open that tells me: new item. this item has not yet been been configured. I have no idea what this is and I have tried left and right clicking it, no result. I used "Live Update" on saturday evening and powered off, all of this has been ongoing since I booted on sunday. What do I do?

Check and see if your wireless switch is off.

Plus linpus lite was made to run on Asian computers. Maybe your American computer can't run it.

What's the solution for the long black background with crusader on startup windows 7 ?

Click Start and type msconfig into the search bar->load msconfig->go to startup->untick all the unnecessary tasks.

Next try updating your graphics driver, use driver booster from majorgeeks if you're not sure how.

If this doesn't work use IObit Advanced system care to clean your system.

Failing that, reinstall windows and start again.
failing that get a SSD drive or new harddrive compatible for your system

When you reboot the machine, keep pressing F8. this should give you a menu to boot into safe mode. when in safe mode you should have an option on the charms bar on the right to refresh your pc which will restore it to previous settings without losing your data.

I was running windows 8 and having trouble with it. So I decided to go back to Windows 7 pro, when doing this I inadvertently put the windows 7 on my second internal SSD drive. now computer is...

Hmm..interesting, so let me get this straight:
You have 2 drives, C drive with Win8 and SSD drive with Win7?
You want to revert back to only having one OS on one drive?
Why can't you just erase everything on the SSD drive? I thought you already had Win8 on that drive? If you don't have anything that you need to keep on the SSD drive, I would just format it and start fresh. Although you always want your OS to run on the SSD drive so that your machine will boot up faster.

No connections are available windows 7 but computer connected with network as well.

Boot the machine at first. If the problem still remains, make sure you have installed latest network card drivers from manufacturors site. You can also try to disable the network interface card, then enable it.

My start menu button and task bar is missing what shall i do :(

Don't worry you can solve it very easily.
Please just follow the below steps and you will fix it.

1 . If you are moving your mouse cursor all the way down (or wherever you have placed your task bar by default), but it won't show up, try pressing the Window key, typically found between the CTRL and the Alt keys. You can also press CTRL+Esc and achieve the same result. If your Start menu pops up after performing either action, this is your chance to manually re size your Windows task bar, as you had probably minimized it by accident.

2 . In case the above step does not fix the issue, try launching the Task Manager by pressing CTRL+Alt+DEL. In the window that pops up, go to the File menu, click on New Task, and type "Explorer" or "Explorer.exe", without the quotes. This action will basically restart the main shell that allows you to see your desktop icons, launch the task bar and initiate most of the visualizations you see on your Operating System. If this does not do the job, let's move onto step three.

3 . Try simply restarting the computer, as this may be as well caused by an old, sluggish system begging to be restarted for various reasons.

4 . Now, if none of the above have worked, you may be forced to run an anti virus and spy ware application. It is recommended that you launch these programs from Safe Mode by simply pressing the F8 key while your computer is booting up (right before the Windows logo shows up on the screen). Some viruses and spyware are known to alter your system in strange ways, so cleaning it may be an appropriate solution, as you have nothing to lose by trying.

5 . If all else fails, you may have to resort to repairing Windows through your Windows disc. During this repair, all of your data/documents will be left intact, while Windows attempts to fix any system error or damage found.

Thanks .

Internet explorer task bar missing

Try pressing the left Alt key alone. Does the menu bar appear?
Try right-clicking the area where the menu bar is supposed to be. Try different spots around the upper part of the window, eventually you should see in the context menu an option to turn on the menu bar.

Desktop Error Message

Probably this is a spyware, use a good anti spyware or do the following:

Run Process Explorer (right click on task bar>task manager>Processes) and Kill the Following Processes:
wscript.exe
dxdlg.exe (kill this one first)

Run Autoruns and under logon tab, remove
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wscript.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\boot.vbs
Search for entries named wproxp and remove it

Remove the following files from your PC:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxdlg.exe
wproxp.exe (Most probably in your system32 or windows folder)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\boot.vbs

Desktop and Task bar disappearing

You computer is infected by the spyware virus try to run in the safemode and download and install spyware doctor of pctools also the registry mechanic this two utilities is very helpful in term of spyware virus. But sometime if your computer infected by the UST.AVI virus you cannot install any program even the anti virus. The virus automatically close any program you install to prevent the anti virus to install in the system. If this happen the only way to salvage the files is reinstall the windows in the other directory then after you finished install windows. You can copy now the the files in the old directory copy of the windows your needed files. and delete the old windows directory permanently.
