It is the automatic water level control kicking in due to turbulence in the boiler, but if the machine is neglected, the AWC probe is encrusted with scale, and must be cleaned or replaced.

Hi,
Clean all debris from the sending unit area of the tank. Use a large flathead screwdriver and a medium hammer to turn the retainer ring counter clockwise. There are three tabs sticking up on the ring, hit each of them intermitantly, The ring will turn about 1/5 th of a turn then it will be fully free. Reassemble it the same way, Make sure the new rubber gasket is the propper fit. If its not the same, Use the old one. Thanks.
Check fuel filter, blow back through fuel lines to tank, check lines for blockage, leaks or cracks, drain and flush fuel tank.
Make sure air intake is free from leaks or blockage, filter is clean and correctly fitted
Check fuel pump connections, try to hear if pump operates by turning on ignition (without starting engine), pump should operate for a few seconds until pressurised then cut out, any longer indicates worn or leaking pump, lines or connectors, especially if done over 300000km.
Otherwise check earths from engine to chassis, also EMS fittings for corosion, or have unit tested.
I had the same problem, there is a cooling fan for the power steering pump that went out and caused some damage to the pump. The intermitent problem finally got worse and I had the pump replaced read: expensive about $1000. See if they have a rebuilt pump available.
IT SOUNDS LIKE A FUEL PUMP OR A IGNITION PROBLEM A INDICATION OF A IGNITION PROBLEM IS THE TACHOMETER SMETIMES WILL START TO BOUNCE UP AND DOWN. CHECK FOR SPARK WHEN IT DIES IF THERE IS NO SPARK THAN IT IS A IGNITION PROBLEM. TO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP TURN THE KEY OFF THEN TURN FORWARDTO THE ACC POSIION AND LISTEN FOR THE FUEL PUMP TO HUMM IT WILL ONY HUMM FOR 5-10 SECONDS EACH TIME TOU DO THIS. THE REASON IT WORKS INTERMITANTLY IS BECAUSE THEY ARE BOTH ELECTRONIC PARTS AND WHEN THEY WARM UP THEY FRITZ OUT LET ME KNOW WHAT HAPPENS AND GOOD LUCK
You have a motor for the front and rear washer. Check the fuses. If the intermitted wipers does not work, there is a relay under the dash near the steering colum that needs to be replaced.
