Question about Sharp Notevision PG-C30XU Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

PG-C30XU projecting criss-cross plaid image.

Whether I connect my laptop or my video camera w/rca cables or any other connection for that matter my projector projects the same plaid criss cross image. This image is very clear and my bulb cranks out good light. The Notevision display shows clearly when I first turn it on and the menu works great as well. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.

Trying to figure out how to connect VCR to laptop ie cables etc Want to transfer tapes to DVD

This will depend on what the connections are on the laptop. All you need is a video in and two audio (left & right) in connectors. If these are 3.5mm jacks sockets on the laptop. Then all you need is convertor cables. It will be easy if the VCR has a scart socket. As you can get a scart plug that has RCA plugs on the other end for audio and video out. All you need then is 3.5mm to female RCA plug lead(s) or if you can only get them with male RCA plugs, 3 inline connectors.
You can also get a USB to RCA plugs. See image below.
images below as well: of 3.5mm cable with RCA (male) and the female version and couplers for the males, plus the scart lead (yellow RCA is video) (all cables can be get from Amazon)

Laptop to tv

Your model laptop has S-Video out capabilities. Depending on what model TV you are connecting to, you would then need an S-Video to (whatever input connection your TV supports: S-Video, VGA, RCA, HDMI) cable. Once you have the cable connected, set your TV to the input method for the cable used, and press Fn + F4 on your laptop Keyboard to project the image over. May need tp press more than once depending if you wish to only display on one screen or both. S-Video is only a video out cable, so you will alos need to run an audio connector cable from your laptop to TV as well, or just use a pair of external laptop speakers for your sound.

Mitsubitishi TV model VS50800 (1998) - sound but no picture. What could the problem be, defective 'bulb'?

There may be a switch on the back of the TV that chooses whether to output video to the component connections or the RCA/S-Video connections.

RCA cables - red, yellow, white
S-Video - single cord (usually black)
Component Video Cables - red, green, blue

Ripples appear in the image when photographing an object with fine plaids or stripes. How can I fix that?

When you are shooting a subject that has a fine regular pattern such as stripes or plaids, a ripple that does not exist on the subject sometimes appears in the image. An example of this can be seen in the pictures below. The photo on the left shows the fine plaids pattern on the shirt. The photo on the right is a distance shot of the same shirt. In this photo, you can see a ripple that is not visible in the photo on the left. This effect is called the Moire effect. Why does the Moire effect occur? Digital cameras and camcorders are equipped with imaging devices such as CCD sensors and CMOS sensors that have pixels that are finely aligned horizontally and vertically that convert light into electronic signals. When the pixels and the pattern on the subject overlap slightly misaligned, an interference pattern occurs and a ripple that does not exist on the actual subject may appear. This is the Moire effect. Look at the image above. This image shows red cross-stripes and black cross-stripes overlapped slightly misaligned. When you look at the entire image, you find a ripple that differs from either of the patterns. This is the same principle that causes the Moire effect. Preventing the Moire effect You can reduce this effect by changing the distance, zoom setting or the angle of the image. If you are using a camera with manual focusing, the Moire effect can be reduced by simply changing the focus slightly. Reference You may find another Moire effect displayed on the LCD of the camera. As this is caused by the aligned pixels on the LCD, this effect does not necessarily appear in pictures you have taken.
