It normal would be on top of the motor were all your electrical comes into the motor .you would see 50 amp fuses next to them there should be 4 round black contactors that have all your wires from your tilt motor and your trim motor connected to them. but if it still works its not the contactors .try this have some one pull up on the outdrive while you hit the switch . if it goes up its your tilt motor has water in it or was damaged by hitting something . water damage is fixable only if its fresh water .salt water you need not waist your time . buy a new one .and if it is fresh water ,if you no how to take stuff apart and putt it back togeather again...the tilt motor need to be cleaned ,up and new seal kit put in it .it should work fine again .

The trim tilt on my Yamaha f350 outboard will go up with switch but it would not go down unless I release the manual valve a little then it would work with switch. What could be the problem.

Stuck pressure valvein the trim pump.
Not that easy to repair if you have no skills and Tools for that kind of work.
Maybe it's better to take your boat to an experienced mecanic.

I have a 2000 210 Searay that the trim button will not raise the outdrive. I have to use the trailer button to trim it

The trim button is specifically designed NOT to raise the lower unit past the level the unit should be trimmed up under power. There is an "over ride" switch somewhere on the dash, or the engine control unit, that has to be used AT THE SAME TIME as the trim switch to move the out drive up past what the manufacturer considers "safe" while under power! Look around.... You will find it, but remember it MUST BE USED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE TRIM "UP" SWITCH!
Good luck!

Inboard boat , the trailer trim is up and it seems to engage from the throttle but it seems locked in position Is there a manual way to release the trailer trim positionon on the engine

There should be a manual release screw on the ram . by loosening it the leg will drop down, if not sure try youtube it should point you in the right direction.
good luck.

Tilt trim go up wont go down 2003 johnson 140 hp 4 stroke

You may want to check service bulletin #2002-052. Some of these motors supply too much voltage to the trim switch at the throttle lever and that trim switch stops working. There is an add-on harness #586806 that fixes this. If you can still tilt and trim the motor at the trim switch that is built into the motor housing this is likely the problem.

My tilt on a yamaha ox66 200 motor quit working, what should I try first?

Step 1:

Operate Trim Switch Do You Hear Clicking Sound In Engine
Yes ,No

Step 2:

If Yes Check Wiring To Power Trim Motor are All Cables Tight
If No Then The Trim Relay And Or Trim Switch Is Probably At Fault

Step 3:

,Remove Three Large Color Wires Going To Power Trim Motor Black, Blue And GreenConnect Black Direct To Negative Battery And Blue To Positive Battery Motor Should Trim Up ,Remove Blue Then Try Green To Positive Battery, Motor Should Trim Down ,If Nothing Then Trim Motor Is At Fault If Works Then Trim Relay/s Are At Fault

Motor died when I slowed down, and wouldn't crank again

Some motors have limit switches built in to kill the ignition if the motor is started at odd angles. The trim is different for speed and passenger load. The limit switches may be adjustable to eliminate that problem. Usually when you go to dock the boat will fish tail if the trim is too extreme for slow speeds.

Volvo-penta aq271c, trim will go down, but not up.no pwr at relay

First check the switch-- does it have power, then check the solenoid to see if it works-- there are two. One is for down, One is for up. If you get power from the solenoid-- outgoing-- check connections going to pump motor.
