After receiving an on screen message that the computer was hibernating I have been unable to open it up again. I have information on the screen which says...WINDOWS COULD NOT START BECAUSE THE FOLLOWING FILE IS MISSING OR CORRUPT; WINDOWS SYSTEM CONFIG SYSTEM It goes on to say...You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original Setup CD-ROM.....I do not have the CD so need some direction to get this laptop up and running again
SOURCE: missing or corrupt file
See if you can go into setup by pressing the F8 key when you first turn on the laptop. It should bring you into a menu, if it does then choose safe mode. If you can get into safe mode then do a system restore back to a date when the laptop was last working properly.
If you can't get into safe mode then your system files are corrupt and you'll need to reset the laptop back to factory default and I believe it can be done by pressing F11 when you first turn on the laptop assuming the partition with the info on it is still there.
If you can't do this then you'll need to find the cd's that came with the laptop and install the operating system first and then the drivers and applications cd.
Let me know if I can be further assistance.

Hello, the best solution to this problem is doing a new installation, because either a virus or someone has deleted some important files that is making your system not boot. I hope this solution has been helpful. Have a wonderful day.

Put the original setup CD-ROM into your CD-drive.
Restart the computer.
Tell it to "boot" from the disk in the CD-drive.
Choose "repair an existing Windows installation",
and let it fix the problem.
Remove the CD-ROM disk.
Restart your (repaired) computer.
