I have a Plantronics CS361N charging station that won't power on. I know the power cord works because it works fine with another unit I have. There is also a green light on the top of the power cord. When I plug it into an outlet without plugging in the charging station the green light is on. Once I plug in the charging station the light goes off. Does this unit contain an internal fuse?

Make sure the headpiece is charged. Turn the headpiece off by pressing the little black button on top of the earpiece and holding for about 5 seconds. Turn the earpiece back on again the same way. You should have a slow flashing blue light on the mic boom. The base station will now try to find the earpiece and within about 20 seconds the red light on the base should be steady and blue light on top should be on.
If this doesn't work you may need to manually pair the earpiece to the base by pressing and holding the Listen Volume Adjust + Button and headset Call Control Button on the earpiece until the light on the mic boom flashes red and blue repeatedly. As above, the base station will now try to find the earpiece and within about 20 seconds the red light on the base should be steady and blue light on top should be on.

The black out or power surge could have affected the unit and caused it to short circuit. If you have purchased it within 1 year of today's date, it is still under warranty and can be replaced by plantronics.

Make sure that the phone cord that comes out of the back of the CS50 base plugs into the Handset port of the avaya telephone, not the headset port. Then make sure the coily cord that comes out of the telephone handset is plugged into the front of the CS50 base.
It takes 1.5 hours to charge to 80% capacity, and 3 hours for a full charge. You will know it's charged fully because the yellow blinking light on the front of the base will now be solid.
