The dishwasher will fill, then run through the cycle, but I don't know whether the water is being pumped out or not, because the bottom was full of dirty, smelly water after two washes. I did not stay to find out whether the water was going out during the cycle.
The latch is also broken, and when that was replaced previously under warranty, it seemed to be part of a larger part with all the major wiring controls of the dishwasher. Now, we don't want to pay a high price for repair, so wonder if it needs a new pump too, and whether it is worth fixing.
It is about 6 to 7 years old. Should the Maytag last longer? Maytag has lost my confidence!
6 to 7 years is about right without put out major repair costs. Unfortunately salesmanship is the biggest racket going. I'd scrap it or sell it for parts. Sorry
