normally it is the power supply at fault; find a friend with a spare power supply and have them bypass yours and test to see if it the problem. Also, smell for burnt electronics - look for leaking capacitors, etc...pay a neighbor or pay best buy!
Reseat the power cord that is on the motherboard. Sometimes if you pull that cord from the motherboard (be careful there is a clip that is holding it to the board) wait about 1 minute then plug the cable back onto the motherboard your machine will possibly turn on. Also unplug your power supply cord from the computer when you do this. The other issue could be that the battery on the motherboard is dead.

Originally my Track Point driver was and IBM type. My pointer started to be erratic and uncontrollable and I update the driver but a Lonevo driver was downloaded. However, the problem with my pointer is still erratic. I contacted Microsoft and they said they have updated to the Loveno driver for Track Point for my IBM Thinkpad T22 using Windows XP Home Edition. How can I resolve the problem and find an appropriate Track Point drive that makes the pointer move properly.
