Question about Microsoft Flight Simulator X for Windows

1 Answer

FSX will not install on my laptop

When I try installing FSX on my laptop with Vista 64, I get a message saying the disk needs to be formatted. Disk properties show 4 GB with no free space, yet I cannot access any files on the disk, even through MY COMPUTER. Whenever I try to browse the disk, I get the same message. It does work on my PC.

Use the installation disk you have (should have been Vista Home) and do a complete format and disk check to make sure the hard drive is in good condition. Just to define whether it's a software or hardware problem, then go to: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php
and download the 32Bit version to burn to a cd and load it from there. If you're successful, you'll know that the problem lies in the software you're using. If you choose to install Windows, get some new CD's to do it with and be sure you use the appropriate 32/64 bit version for your mother board. When in doubt, always go for the 32B. Good Luck

Error message when you try to install Windows Vista on computer that has...

This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot distinguish between ambiguous hard disks.

In versions of Microsoft Windows Setup that are earlier than Windows Vista Setup, hard disks are marked with distinct values to distinguish them. However, this method of distinguishing hard disks is no longer supported because of the potential for data corruption on hard disks.

Do you have more than one hard drive connected to your computer?

If you have two hard drives, remove the second hard drive and continue with the installation.

If that does not work, try to format the C: drive while installing the Vista operating system.

You need to select the "format" option from "advanced" within Vista installation.

What do I need to Switch from a vista 64 bit Operating System to vista 32 bit Operating System?

You'll need an installation disk, but why would you want to invest the time and effort with Vista. Upgrade to Win7 instead (stay away from 8).

Problem installing Vista SP1 on Asus G2s

If you tried to install Vista on the Primary drive and formatted the primary HDD your Factory Recovery Partition , most likely has been written over, it's gone. Choose one or the other , Vista or Win 7, start from the beginning, install a clean Vista load, formatting in the installation procedure, form a Vista Installation DVD, follow instructions, boot up, do ALL the Vista Updates, it will take hours of updates, rebooting, updates, rebooting. You will get to the Service Pack's 1 and 2, in 24 hours or so. Put on a pot of coffee and be patience. If you prefer Windows 7 use the same procedure.

My Ethernet port is damaged an i have bought a USB Ethernet device,I am trying to install the USB Lan to my sony vaio model : VGN-AW-180Y which has windows vista 64 bit in it, and every time i try to run...

you need a driver for vista 64 and I think on the installation disk that came with the device ..there is not any such thing ...look on the manufacturer site and see if they have ...just type the name of the manufacturer and add word support near and make a google search ..it will guide you to the site ...there select the device by name and operating system exact and see drivers availability ..if you do not find it ..you gonna have to install Vista on 32 or windows 7 in the laptop ...there will be no visible changes in 64 and 32 ...
It will work ...I only hope the adapter manufacturer will have a driver on 64 for it ..this will be the happiest case..if not it will bother you a little to save important files ,,and reinstall Vista ..

please do not forget to rate ...Have a great day !

If your Wundows vista is a full install program you should have deleted and created the partion then formatted the new partition before installing windows vista. Try this again if you hard drive is stuffed you will need a new one Im afraid but windows vista will tell you this before it installs itself. Goodluck!!!!!
