You can adjust the dosage setting on this machine. The factory setting is 7gms, but this can be increased with a little trick. I found that if I increase the dosage setting but use a coarser grind (say 8-10) works best. So how to increase the dosage? First you will need to remove the bean hopper (after removing beans) by taking out the 2 screws inside. At this point you can see the dosage lever approximately an inch to the left of the grinder near the front (using a flashlight). Then open the front door on the machine (remove sleeve on steamer to open fully) and remove the brew group and you will see two square holes toward the right - the one near to you is the one we need. Get a screwdriver or something similar and put it through the hole...if you look from the top into the bean hopper you should be able to see it coming up next to the dosage lever. The trick is to push the dosage lever up from the bottom with the screwdriver and using your fingers from the top move the lever to the right (I wouldn't put it on the highest dosage - recipe for disaster long term). There you are, I think the maximum setting is 14gms. Then adjust the grind fineness to around 9.

First try adjusting the grind atleast 2 numbers coarser, then run two shots for trial, if that does not fix the problem then remove the brew unit and find the screen and clean screen and tube on unit.

Water pressure too low for coffee making - error Grind is too fine....

maybe the grind is too fine. Too fine will make it harder for water to pump through the coffee.

Why wont the steamer work

hi,
he pump presses hot water through the grind not steam.
if the coffee is hot and hot water is dispensed, your line are clocked.
descale the machine as directed.
if coffee is cold the heat element is toasted. very unlikely though, since the machine will not dispens coffee, pump running if correct temperature is not reached.
good luck

Loud drilling noise when coffee switch is turned on - rather than the usual purring noise - and no coffee delivery either

How old is your machine ? and what maintenance have you done over time such as replacing the shower curtain located at the pourring end of the hot water ? I had too very loud noise coming occasionnally from the stainless steel rack holding the cup while coffee is delivered. If your ground coffee is too fine it will stop flow during making a shot. Is water coming out when no coffee is placed in the portafilter. The water pump on this machine is a cheap pump that has to be replaced over time. Mine is 7 years old and has delivered four cups of expresso everyday of the year, and still working.3841c994-fb4b-459f-8d1f-710e0aafc3c0.jpg 2ead4f70-37c6-4236-a9c2-992dba149c4c.jpg

Beans grind and are wet but coffee doesn't come out... it goes through the cycle and spits out a little. When cycle is complete, the water light comes on, but after priming the same thing occurs.

This tells me that either the grind is too fine and or the brew unit screen, and discharge tube needs to be cleaned. Try this first press the button for making a espresso using the manual function, do not add coffee through the door then press the brew button. If water flows freely then the grind is too fine, if you get the water prime error then the screen under the red o-ring on the brew unit needs to be cleaned.

V'Espresso makes hot water and steam, but does not release water into brewmaster. Only makes loud noise.

Sounds like either the grind is too fine or the brew unit is blocked at the shower screen.
If the coffee ground discharged are wet, then the grind is too fine, if they are dry then the upper screen needs to be cleaned because it is blocked with coffee oils.

Coffee not brewing after grinding

After grinding did you hear the brew group goes up and pump start? If you hear the pump start and stopped, itis blockage in the brewunit metal screen. Just needs cleaning.
If you don't hear the pump starting, the problem is with the faulty micro switch inside the gearbox , that is behind the plate of brewunit.(service center job)

The Saeco Incanto machine grinds away but no water or coffee

Are there any grounds in discharge tray and if yes are they wet or dry?
If they are dry then the machine has a water circuit problem. If they are wet then the brew unit is blocked or the grind settings need to be adjusted coarser.

No coffee is coming out of the machine...

in our machine we wanted a stronger coffee so we adjusted the auto grinder (where the coffee beans are housed) to the finest setting thinking the finer the grind the stronger the coffee...after doing this the machine wouldnot make coffee...we sent it away while still under warranty and the tech said that the grind selection was too low so they just turned the grinder back up a notch and it worked fine ....dont know if this will help but it's worth a try!

Clean the ball and valve assembly located in the Brew Group. It ocassionally gets "dirty" and needs cleaning. Be careful you don't lose the glass ball which is very small. Use a q-tip or small wire for cleaning the tubular area.
