use the s-video output for sound. on the tv only plug in the speaker wires and not the video plug.

The good news is your set has a picture therefore is not an output transistor,the problem your set has is a signal processing problem,no video of any source is being processed,is just a different kind of problem and for that you will need the assistance of a servicer to diagnose,try taping where the cables conect to the tv if the set reacts the loose conection is close to that imput panel but if it does not be safe and call for help.
