Is it connecting to the internet, or just your local network. You can download the manual here... http://www.manualslib.com/manual/249195/Acer-Aspire-5920.html

SOURCE: Wi-Fi drivers for Acer Aspire 4710Z for linux

The drivers for Windows can be used if no specific Linux drivers exist. There's a program within Linux called NDisWrapper which is designed to use the drivers provided for Windows XP in Linux. Refer to your particular distribution of Linux for the details on how to set up NDisWrapper from within your distribution (I've only done it in Ubuntu so have no experience of other distros)

SOURCE: acer aspire 3000 wi fi problem

First you need to make sure the Wireless drivers are installed in the computer, aswell the Acer Related utilities. Then Most acer laptops have a button on one of the sides or on the top of the laptop to turn on the wireless.

To find out if you have the acer related programs installed, try pressing some of the buttons on the top of the laptop, that are NOT apart of the keyboard, they should open up acer or related programs, if noting happens the programs are not installed, one of the buttons is likely to turn on the wireless.

To check if the wireless drivers are installed press start -> run -> type: msinfo32 (OR press down the windows key and press R, then let go and type msinfo32 into the run menu that comes up and click OK)

On the program, left side, open up components from the + next to it, then find Problem devices from the list and click on it, on the right you will see a list of devices that are not installed or not working.

If the list is empty, everything is properly installed. and you should be able to get your wireless to turn on by pressing on the wireless button on the laptop, and then use your computer to connect to a wireless network.

If you need further assistance let me know.

I can´t get connected to wifi in acer aspire 300lci

The most common reason for lack of wi-fi is that the laptop maker put a hard-to see switch somewhere on the rim of the chassis. My Acer 3003lci has it disguised as an activity light on the front-center edge; if you acidentally press it, there's a light 'click', the orange light goes out, and the wi-fi device is turned off. Press it again, it's back on and takes a minute to find and reconnect to wi-fi. Others I've helped have HP laptops, where the switch is a slider with the tiniest blue pin-light to show whether it's on or off.

The 2nd most common reason is that Windows, in its infinite wisdom, thinks it can run the laptop's wi-fi device better than the device's firmware, and disables the device driver in favor of its own. If you tinker with the settings, you can fix this, but it requires much patience.

Black screen after turn on

That "Blue Screen" is also known as "Blue screen of Death".

The problem is due driver compatibilty or unstablity.

Try to boot your system to "Safe Boot" by pressing F8 during startup.
Select "Last know good Configuration that works"
Check if it can take you to desktop.
Unstalled the wi-fi driver and reboot.

If the above procedure fails, again
Try to boot your system to "Safe Boot" by pressing F8 during startup.
Select "Safe boot"
Check if it can take you to desktop.
Unstalled the wi-fi driver and reboot.

Now create a restore point  and download the lastest version of your WI-Fi driver and installed.

This should work fine.

Otherwise Backup all your important data from your hard drive (mainly opearting system file installed drive usually C:\) and go for a new Installation.
