Do you have calcium build-up on the lid or catch? Is the spring that makes the lid spring open broken? Are you placing pans or large plates up against the front of the dishwasher that is holding the lid shut? In most cases, question #1 is the cause. Mix some Lemi-Shine powder in some hot water and use an old toothbrush to clean it off. You can also use "CLR" to clean it off. Or you can just buy some Dishwasher Magic to clean out the calcium throughout the dishwasher.

Detergent cake left in dispenser after wash cycle

Has the dispenser door open at end of cycle. If dispenser door is open but not fallen down to the tub means most likely the water arm pressure is not good enough to get flush down to the tub.

Door not open means dispenser failure or control board not giving power to dispenser at right time. In some cases dispenser door is stuck with harden earlier soap so it cannot open completely in the cycle.

Why not when opening the door at end of cycle, listen to dispenser area to see the flapper opening while you are opening the door. That means dispenser not opening properly in the cycle.

This issue is a hard solve sometimes. Don't wont to spend the money, then just use the tablets and through them in the tub in the beginning and say good bye to dispenser.

Dtergent dispencer does not open

Dispenser Lever

If the dispenser is broken and doesn't open or close properly the dispenser lever might need to be replaced.

Detergent Dispenser Cover

If the detergent dispenser cover is broken and the detergent dispenser doesn't work, the dispenser assembly should be replaced.

Wax Motor Actuator

If the dispenser will not release the detergent the actuator connected between the wax motor and the dispenser might be broken. Check the wax motor actuator and replace it if necessary.

If the dishwasher dispenser doesn't work the detergent container may need to be replaced.

Dispenser Lid

If the dispenser is broken and doesn't open or close properly the dispenser lid may have to be replaced.

Detergent Dispenser

Main Control Board

The main control board provides power to nearly every component of the dishwasher including the detergent dispenser. If the dispenser will not actuate the main control board might be defective. You should first check for more common parts. Many times control boards are replaced unnecessarily because the problem was not diagnosed properly.

FROST BUILDS UP BETWEEN DOOR ICE CHUTE AND ICE MAKER AND IN FRONT OF ICE MAKER AUGER. MAYTAG MSD2756GEB

The door is probably not shutting all the way because of a broken hinge or hinge bracket or the solenoid sticking. You'll have to look to see what's wrong. Remove the dispenser cover by gently prying starting at the bottom going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components.

Here's a diagram and parts list of your dispenser. Check the spring and other related parts. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=MSD2756GEB&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=3048&modelName=SIDE-BY-SIDE-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00008&componentDescription=FOUNTAIN&documentId=M0404275&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

No water or ice through door

sounds like the dispenser assembly is not sensing that the trap door is opening fully, so it wont send power to the auger motor or fill valve. If you are pretty handy, you can disassemble the door and take out the dispenser assembly and try to take the assembly apart and correct the throw on the trap door. Otherwise, I'm afraid you need a new dispenser to the tune of about $250 parts and $225 trip and labor. Good luck!
