Question about HP 417035-001 - HP Pavilion dv2000 Series Laptop Full Featured Intel Chipset Motherboard
I have an HP Pavilion Dv 2000. I've had it for 2 years. It worked perfectly fine until now. Last week I was on youtube, watching some videos, when all of a sudden, it freezes, leaving a messed up image with stripes. This process happened about 4 times. But, sometimes it does not go on. I have to try to turn it on 3-6 times before it's back and running.
Now, I try doing the same process because it froze again. But, this time, it does not turn on. The lights go on, but, sometimes the fans do not go on. I keep pressing the power button, but nothing. Does this have to do with a failing battery? I have removed the battery and let it run off of the AC adapter, but nothing. The lights and the fans run at times, but, still nothing. What do you think the problem is?
Ac adapter? Battery? motherboard?
this is driving me crazy!!
No way to tell for sure, but the "messed up image with stripes" suggests a video component. Unfortunately most laptop components are not replaceable, which means you probably need a new laptop. Save your hard drive, the data on it is still there and you will be able to either copy the files you need or just connect it to your next computer.
