18cf Top freezer ref. 28" w x 67.5" h x 31" d
You are right no published spec's left too old I guess?

SOURCE: WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE FREEZER MODEL ART 201. REPLACING

Hello,
It is often the case that if the thermostat is not working, the best route to take is to replace it rather than try to fix it, unless you have the necessary knowledge to do so. Most of the time, these are not as expensive as you would think and can be easily installed into the refrigerator. Here are some steps to follow to find out what the best route for you to take is in repairing or replacing your thermostat.

Good luck.....
Locate the thermostat and get all necessary model numbers, serial numbers and model codes. This information should be available for the refrigerator itself as well. Use this information to find and purchase the correct thermostat for your refrigerator.
Next, remove all power from the unit. Unplug the unit completely and make sure that it is not running before moving forward. Then, remove the old thermostat by cutting through the wiring.
To install the new thermostat, trim the lead wires to the right length. They are generally too long to start with. Terminate back into the circuit. The device will act as if it is a switch. This means that the direction or the coloring of the wires is not important. So long as you can cut off the current moving through them to the main defrost element you have no problem.
Make sure to properly dress the wires to insure that no part of them comes into contact with the defrost elements as this can cause them to melt.
Replacing a thermostat doesn’t have to be a lot of work, when you know what the problem is and can get easy access to the parts you need. Determine if your thermostat is bad by running through those tests first. When you do replace it, make sure to test to make sure it is working properly by allowing the unit to cool for several hours and testing the temperature within it.

My guess is the fan has gone on it. Mine did the same thing. The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer compartment via a fan that is usually in the back of the freezer. It's not a hard replacement, if you're tech-savvy (took me about 1/2 hr.) and the part will cost you about 40 to 70 dollars, depending on where you buy it (priced mine out at $70, I think, but found a local guy who sold me one for $40. It's called an "Evaporator Fan" and I believe this link will show you a possible replacement for it (The crappy part is that you need to take the old one out to look at it to be sure).http://tinyurl.com/3so7a86 Good luck.

It's likely the start device on the compressor. If you hear clicking sound every few minutes - that's likely it. Turn off the fridge, remove the start device from the compressor and shake it - if small pieces looking like sand start falling out, replace the start device. Part number is on the device itself.

Freezer is not freezing properly and the refigerator is not cold

You have a defrost problem. The fridge gets cold air from freezer, if ice blocking from no defrost, no fridge temperature.

WBM35MW: Beeping

Try first unplugging the fridge for ten minutes, this will drain power from circuits and can solve some problem of this kind.

If it did not work you have an electronic problem, probably a wire making contact or a faulty control board.

You can buy replacements here.

Or call the number listed on your user manual if you need to call a repairman.

In need of 2 door closures P/N 1112992 for Kitchenaide or Whirlpool refigerator model KSSS42MBX01 CAN you help find these parts.

Our refrigerator just died because of a failed heat exchange part. We had hoped to repair, but am not succeeding in locating the heat exchange part. If we do not get replacement parts for our Fridge, we could potentially sell parts (eg door closers).
