Question about Nokia N73 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Memory full. Please delete some data.

Details of the problem:

a) Turning ON my Nokia N73, this "Memory full. Please delete some data." will appear. Then a blinking envelope will appear on the upper right hand corner on my phone's screen.
b) It can no longer receive text messages but sending one has no problem.
c) Phone memory is not utilized because I have a 2GB memory card.
d) In the memory card:
d.1 Pictures (numbers to a minimum)
d.2 Received messages (numbers to a minimum)
d.3 Music File
d.4 No videos
d.5 In the Outbox: There are 24 logged (saved) messages. These could not be opened but with details showing the dates and the first portion of the text message. And the thing is, these are not mine. And more that these could NOT be deleted.
d.6 But if the memory card is removed, the said messages are gone too. This problem is maybe just inside the card coz the messages will appear again once the card is reinstalled.
e) Logs won't work anymore.
f) The same problems appeared even if a different SIM card is used.
g) No problem making and receiving voice calls.
h) No problem in using the camera.
i) Tried several times to restore the default settings by using this code *#7780# but nothing happens and it didn't correct the problem.
j) When using the updated Nokia PC Suite, both the saved messages and the contacts (numbers) are no longer showed in the computer after I clicked the refresh button.

Is software reformatting the only solution? I hope there is another way to correct this problem. Please help!

Hi,

This flashing envelope icon is telling you that your text message storage is full.

1. Go to Messages
2. Select Options
3. Then select SIM messages
4. Select and delete all SIM messages.

This should do it.

All the best!
