Usually this is caused by the high voltage being too high causing vertical retrace lines and a very bright washed out white screen but this usually affects the whole screen....if only one area of your screen is white.....the picture tube might have a short in one of the guns and it's causings the electrons to fly off uncontrolled in a different direction other than where it's supposed to you might have a bad picture tube....but this fault can also be caused by a video fault or even a yoke control or scanning fault......only a shop can detect whats going on to isolate the fault and yes,,,,it could be expensive depending on what it is.....but with my experience as a technician...I can tell you off hand without looking at the machine that I believe you might have bad capacitors causing this problem....I can almost guarantee it 100%....capacitors were notorious for these kinds of faults...if capacitors are bad...then your looking at a few dollars for caps and what ever labour they charge you...this should be a very cheap hope that's its your capacitors.

I have a 60inch 1080p big screen Mitsubishi tv with atleast a 1000 little white spots and tv turns off frequently when 1st turned on what is wrong?

The white spots sound like the Optical Light engine has a bad display, they sometimes start with one or two and multiply.

The engine is about the most expensive part in the set, see attached photo of one

My Philips TV is over 10 years old and has now got Green Hues all over the screen. Is this going to be an expensive fix or do you suggest a new TV now that my area is going over to digital shortly. I am...

You will spend lots of get this 10 year old TV repaired and it is still a 10 year old piece of electronics. The price of TVs has gone down so much that you can more than likely buy a brand new 32" LCD widescreen HDTV for what is will cost to repair this one. You could spend money to repair this one and then something else could go wrong. My advice it to junk it and buy a new one.

I will turn on my 1995 jvc and all i see is a white horizontal line about half inch that won't go away unless i hit the tv then i get my picture back.

The vertical output integrated circuit needs to be resoldered to the circuit board. It's common for these connections to develop cracks over time. When you smack the set it's causing the connections to make contact again for a while. There may also be capacitors in the vertical circuit which need to be replaced as well. They age and change in value.

I have a paper jamming in paper pick-up area.It dosen't make it past white plastic rlrs. Manual feed by-pass works fine .XC-830

The paper pick up rollers have lost their grip and need replaced, but I wouldn't put that much expense into fixing it. That xerox is a sharp in disguise, although supplies are not interchangeable the parts are. Common repairs for that machine is the gear on the fixing roller will break, to pick up tires dry rot and the heat lamp will blow. For the expense to fix it can almost buy a new one with more features and cost less to operate. The xerox supplies are very expensive.
Just use the by pass until something else goes wrong.
Good luck

It sounds like a fault with the power supply bus feeding the video processing circuit.
It probably wont cost to much to get fixed, however make sure you get a quote on labour and parts. It may be and end of line model and parts could be quite expensive to get hold of.
Also if possible find a regisered repair man in your area, usually you can do this by ringing up JVC themselves as they often keep details on file.
Just make sure you asses wether it would be cheaper to just buy another tv, or to go ahead with the repair.
Let me know if this helped.
