It is time to clean the oven. The smoke is from grease in the oven burning off.

What is the difference between a smoke oven and a smoke house if any

I think of smokehouse as a generic term for a BBQ style restaurant, like "Joes Smokehouse", and the smoke oven as something Joe would actually smoke the meat in.

I just used the self cleaning option for the first time and the entire house filled with hazy smoke and a very strong , almost chemical odor - what is wrong?

The self cleaning setting goes to a very high temperature ,it is this high temperature that cleans the oven ,the remains that was left in the oven.during the cleaning cycle would have likely caused the hazy smoke and strong odour . Recomendation : use your vent fan , remove heavy residue from the oven before starting the cleaning cycle.

When cleaning my oven, the whole house fills with smoke.

sell cleaning on ovens just causes problems like this, it is normal. it cleans by burning everything inside at high temp. i always recommend cleaning the old fashioned way, once a year , with oven cleaner, or as req. roasting an oven itself to clean it is insane i think

Hello, I own a GE spectra xl44 self cleaning oven. recently my oven has started to smoke while cooking. I tried to use the self cleaner, however this only set off my fire alarm. I have cleaned all of the...

If you cannot get to clean it fully then open your windows, place a fan in the doorway to encourage the smoke to leave the house and put it on a cleaning cycle.
Use aluminium foil to line the base of the oven rack. That will stop this from happening again when your containers are overfilled.

Self clean mode causes a lot of smoke!

If the oven was really dirty, particularly with grease and unsolid food stuffs, then you will see smoke come out.

The self clean features basically incinerates the food residues in the oven. With incineration comes smoke.

If you feel there is a problem with the electrical circuits, then we would recommend that you call an appliance technician to inspect the unit for any faults.

Reply back what you find.

NEFF OVEN PROBLEM - SMOKE AND FUMES COMING OUT OF OVEN

Take the cover off that is surrounding the fan and you will probably find food or something there or on the fan blades. If it is not a food smell, then there is probably some wiring that is burning. I suspect that there is food behind the housing of the fan.

Burned out oven and house full of smoke

The cavity is mostly metal. It will be hard to clean and never fresh again, but the oven function may be fixable. The oven has several temperture sensors. If one or more sensors have tripped they may have to be replaced. Check the sensors with an ohmmeter, make sure the door closes securely and go from there.

Oven popped and smoked

seatie, as long as you have the breaker off to the oven you should be o.k. Sounds like something shorted to the oven cabinet. It could be the terminal connection on the heating element itself. The main board could of shorted out. Without being there it's hard to tell, but you will be fine until GE arrives as long as the breaker to the oven is off. Catriver.
