The problem must be in the pump if the fuse only blows when you connect the red and black wires from the pump, that's all I can think that it might be as long as you are following the installation instructions

Need to connect a jet sound graphic equalizer JS-234 to a car stereo. The wires had folded stickers and some a gone. The colors of wires are red, black, gray, green.Only have 2 front speakers .

If it's only 4 wires, Red & black are typically power. red +12volts & black is ground. Gray would be one channel say right side and green would be left (example) you would ground the negative speaker lead on both sides. That is probably an old unit and make sure your car is negative ground. Some Ford & Nissan are positive grounded for some circuits which you may need to reverse the power connections. Make sure there is an in line fuse on the power wire just in case.

I keep getting my 30amp fuse burned out I connected the red with the positive and the black wire with the negative why is it shorting out?

there is a dead short in the circuit that that fuse controls. Go from the fuse and trace the wiring look and look for cuts , wear points pinched wires and if you have installed anything like an amp or radio etc check that you have the correct polarity.

Replaced Headunit with after market one, but now the dash lights don't work, Fuses are fine, everything else is fine. Car is 1999 Mazda 323

Hi, there is a factory wire (red with a black stripe) in your car for illuminating the stock radio. This wire is not to be used in an aftermarket radio, so you need to make sure it isn't connected and also isolate and bare wire with electrical tape. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Hi, your factory Sunfire wire colors are pasted below. The yellow wire should be accessory. This should connect to the stereo's red power wire. The orange "always hot" wire should connect to the stereo yellow wire--this is only used to keep your station presets in memory. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Gauge cluster lights won;t light - replaced cluster, dimmer switch - did put new stereo in car? Fuses, bulbs all good. What could be the problem?

When you put the stereo in, what did you do with the red wire with a green stripe? The aftermarket radios don't always use these, so you have to wrap the ends, depending on whether or not you used a wiring harness. If that wire is shorted on the chassis, it will blow the dimmer fuse.
