Look at the rear of your opener and see what color wires are connected to terminals 1 and 2. These will be the two wires you should connect to the wall button.

I did not make a diagram when replacing the light switch

Red from switch goes to two blacks, blue from switch goes to two blacks and the black wire goes thru top of light and attaches to blue fan light wire. If you want a good fan, look for blade pitch(13 degree or higher)Or CFM's above 5500 on high.

Garage door works with the remote, but not the door closer in the garage

Replace button on wall. Check wiring between button and opener.
Look at product manual and see if manual has troubleshoot section.
If there is no wire between wall button and opener, the remote may be one of those 'self learning' unit and may have to be reprogrammed. And -or battery replaced.
Otherwise the wall button connects directly to circuit board on opener, and cannot be repaired without ... parts, schematic, electronic knowledge.
Replace garage door opener.

Light only turns on with the remote. How do I set it to turn on with the wall switch?

There are some fan models (particularly with a remote control) that use multiple cycles of a single power switch to select the operating mode. For example, if you simply flip the switch on, you get the fan. If you flip it on, then off, then on again within one second, you get the light. If you flip the switch on - off - on - off - on, you get both. The trick is to do it fast enough so the internal power circuit doesn't run out of capacitor charge and forget what you're trying to get it to do.

I bought a Hampton Bay ceiling fan and I have

Hi ,, the usual wiring for the fan / light is that in the ceiling the white wires connect together , the black house wire connects to the black fan wire, the red house wire connects to the other fan wire, usually blue or black with a blue stripe. If this does not resolve the issue, then check the wall switches and see that there is a power wire to each switch and that there is a red wire from the fan on one switch and the black wire from the fan on the other switch ..

First, let me say that if you're not entirely comfortable doing high voltage electrical work, you might want to call an electrician. It's not impossible for you to get hurt or killed or burn down your house. At least be sure to turn of the circuit breaker while you're working on it.

The blacks and whites twisted together are passing through power to other parts of your premises and are always on, so be sure to keep them twisted together. The red is the one that will take power from your light switch and send it to your light fixture.

At the fixture, connect the white to white and red to black, the same as before. At the light switch, connect the black to one side of the switch and the red to the other. When you turn on the switch, it will permit power from the black to travel down the red to the fixture, and from the fixture, the circuit will be completed through the white.

Good luck!

Door want work work with wall switch and no light on wall switch

Make sure the wires from the wall button are still connected to the opener and are tight. There are two and they should go to terminals 1 and 2. You can take a screwdriver and momentarily short between those two terminals and the opener should run. If it runs with the screwdriver and not the button it is either the button or the wiring. Try releasing the door from the opener and see if the opener will run this way. It may still be in a bind.

Hampton bay fan with two wall switches and fan does not work

That is because you need both switches wired exactly the same way in order to have a two way switch. The switch that blew had the necessary wires but was wired wrong. One of those two black wires has to be used as a red one. You will have to check the wires for continuity to find which black connects to the red wire on the other end.

Wiring the opener and sensors

The wall button gets the red and white wire. The safety eyes use the black and white wires. There are two types of attachments on the back of the openers. One has three screws. On this type the 1 is for the red wire, the 2 is for all white wires, and the 3 is for all black wires. The other type has four blocks and you just match the color to the wire color.
