Re: my air condition heater

Auto and on only controls your blower inside the home. More info is needed to determine if you have a gas furnace, electric furnace or a heat pump system.

Keeping your whole home cool with central air.

Sometimes it is difficult to keep your home cool in the hot summer months. Also, some areas of your home may still be hot where other areas are too cool. Try this method to keep your home cool evenly throughout. Before you get started make sure your furnace filter is new. This will allow for maximum air flow.

If your living space is a single floor plan:

  1. Turn the air conditioning on
  2. Switch the furnace fan from auto to on.
  3. Measure the temperature in each room.
  4. Close the vents by about half in the cooler rooms
  5. This will force more cool air into the warmer rooms.
  6. Keep adjusting the vents until all the rooms have the same temp.

If your living space is on more than one level:

  1. Turn on the air conditioning.
  2. Switch the furnace fan from auto to on.
  3. On the lowest level of the house close half of the vents that are the closest to the stairs.
  4. This will force more cool air to the top floor where it is usually hotter.
  5. Cool air will sink from the upper floors which will keep the area near the stairs cool.
  6. Measure the temperature in all the rooms.
  7. Keep adjusting the vents until you have a nice even temperature throughout the house.
I found that leaving the furnace fan on all the time will keep your home evenly cool and comfortable. You may have to replace your furnace filter once a month due to the increased air flow. It will be well worth it in a cooler, more comfortable, and more energy efficient home.

Take Care,

Air conditioning light will not shut off, and does not let the heater fan work properly

This is most likely caused because it may have overheated and caused a problem with the fan.

To turn on the air conditioner, on the thermostat do you click it to Auto and then on the other side click to Cool? Or do you click on Fan and Cool?

If you put the fan to auto, the fan will run only when the compressor runs. the other position it will run untill you switch it back to auto. Then cool unless you require heat at night or in the morning, usaually when I start cooling season the heat stays off.

Where can I get a manual for my Emerson Quiet Cool Room Air Conditioner? Not sure the model, but these #s were on outside of box: 10DC93 784040B OE21M N14421, is on a little sticker on the right...

Let see if I can help. The numbers don't come up so we'll just try your information.

Exhaust - should be closed when using for Air Conditioning
Energy savings turns the fan off with the compressor when set for Air Conditioning
Fan Only means just that (no Air Conditioning)

Fan speeds Quite same as low, Norm same as medium, Super same as High
Temp settings, what the thermostat senses before cycling compressor.

Thermo set "heat" and "Auto

Check the fan relay. These relays are used to cut the fan on and off when the thermostat is set in the air conditioning or heating mode or when you move the thermostat to the "Fan On" position. The low voltage usually the green thermostat wire is wired to terminal #1. The low voltage common wire to terminal #3. One line voltage wire is attached to terminal #4. The high speed blower wire usually black is attached to terminal #2. When the thermostat calls for air conditioning or "Fan On" the 24 volt coil is energized, the terminals 4 and 2 close. This causes the fan to come on in high speed. When your home cools down and the thermostat cuts the air conditioner off, the low voltage coil terminals 1 & 3 are denergized, and the fan goes off. Sometimes these little relays stick which causes the fan to run all the time or will not make good contact, which causes the fan to not run in the "Fan On" or air conditioning mode.

What mode on my model hprbo7xc7 is for air

Hi, On all model stats, the mode you want for the fan to cycle off and on with the air conditioning, is cool-auto, not cool-on. With cool on, the indoor fan will continue to run all of the time. In the auto mode, it will cycle on and off.

No cool air but only fan working in central air condition

Check to see if outside unit is running. If it is check breaker, float switch inside. If everything is ok You have to call a Service Tech. There is only so far you can go. If you think the gas company had anything to do with it call them back and tell them it was working before you checked the gas. They could have left something off. Russ
