Question about Canon CD-4050 Path-Through Scanner

2 Answers

Canon CD-4050 I just acquired one of these scanners but I have no manuals, etc. It powers up and the display is visual. However, there is a sign on password box and I have no idea how to get around this. Have no idea who the previous owner was, got it at a yard sale for $10.00.

Re: Canon CD-4050

Try plugging in a key board and hitting the escape key, works for me every time.

Once in you can goto the Tools > Admin and adjust the domain settings.

I can not find driver suitable for scanner CP-HR7X to work in Windows 7

I can use HR7X under windows 7 64bits, but not easy.
1) disconnect de power of scanner.
2) install the driver V2.1 (21Mb)
3) reboot
4) plug the power cord of scanner
5) cancel windows instalation
6) install the driver manually (c:\programs files\scannerU)

Now you have the KYESCAN.exe in the Colorpage folder.
7) run kyescan
8) at the scanner panel press SCAN button
9) wait, the kyescan will open a program like Photoshop or CorelDraw.
10) Now you can Acquire a image (File-> acquire -> via)

Note: you have to use kyescan. If you try to use direct from a image program the PC will not find de scanner.

That's all.
Forgive me my poor english.

Scanner won't feed

Fan the documents and check if they are loose. Stapled documents can be 'sticky' even after removing pins. Clena the pick-& ****** up rollers. Switch off the scanner and rotate them by hand so that all areas canbe cleaned (In power-on position, they are locked), If worhout replace them. Normally they last about 250,000 scans. Using a damp cloth is generally enough, dont use solvents.

Canon Dr-9080C scanner

to check the page count install the driver and setup the scanner as a "scanner device" on your computer. Once you have done that , go to the "control panel" than "scanners and printers". Right-click on the device that says "Cannon DR-9080C" and select "properties". The device information will appear, than select the "counter" tab on the information box; the scan count will be listed.

TWAIN message

The Twain error message sounds like a Windows error... I wonder if the software you are trying to use is for Windows, and not MAC.

On the main screen tap the "QUIT" in the upper right hand corner of the scrreen. This should bring up a smaller box asking "Are sure you want to quit?" with a "Cancel" and an "OK" tab. Do not select either tab, instead tap you finger on the left side of the small box twice, then on the right side once, then again on the left side (L L R L) in rapid manner. This should bring up a small box stating you are in "Service Mode", tap "OK". This should bring up a box with 3 tabs at the top. Tap the "Battery" tab. The next box will have a tab on the lower left side "Exchange Battery", tap it, then tap "OK" on the next screen. This should set the battery install date to the current date and the expiration date 2 years out. Back out and shut down and reboot. You should no longer get the "Replace battery" message. The screen should display the new dates for the battery.

Hope this helps.

CD-4050 Scanner

First scan a single page and note the file size. Then scan two pages and check if the file size is changed. If the file size is changed, then you have problem with your viewing software. If the file size is same, then check your setting in the scaniing software.
