Won't start up past the green 'windows mobile' screen

I dropped my dash and it won't start since. I have taken both the battery and sim card out, as well as the added micro sd card. None of these helped. I would like to try a 'soft reboot' (?) but I don't know how that is done. Can anyone help with that or suggest another solution?

I just tried it too. It wouldn't work at first, but this is what i did. At first i kept pushing the softkeys first and then the power button, but you have to do them the opposite way.

Push and hold the on button and as soon as you do that, hold down the (-) two softkey menu select buttons (above the home and <- buttons)
it will take you to the black screen that says its going to reconfigure
then you push the green talk button
it'll look like it freezes again, but its really booting up. so leave it alone. mine took 5 minutes to finish. i really didnt think it was going to work again. but YAY! it did..

I had this problem, what i did was a master reset.

Turn off your phone.
When you turn it back on hold the two soft keys for 5 sec. The soft keys are the ones you use for contacts and START on the main menu.
Unitl you get a black system screen, press enter and it should take a couple of minutes to do a master reset.

Hey i just had the same problem, but go to this link and follow the directions,,THEY REALLY WORK

I just had the exact same problem, and fixed it. take out the sim card and microSD card, and restart without them. It should start all the way now. I then took off the battery cover and inserted the sim card (with the phone still on and battery in place). Then restart again and it should start all the way and load your sim card.

Hmm... This isn't working for me for some reason. My phone goes through the Windows green screen, then gets stuck on the white T-Mobile screen. Can't reset it, can't do master reset, nothing....

Any ideas?

Dash freezes on startup screen

Take battery out and leave it out for about a week. It may reset.
And take out your SIM card.
That resets my phone if it works then it works.
Good luck

Dash stuck on opening TMobile screen

The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.
You can get the software for the T-mobile dash at the following link:
Be warned that if you use this method most of the data on the phone will be lost, like text messages and etc. Your contacts should be fine as the are stored on the SIM Card and if you have been syncing your contacts with your PC then they should get loaded when you do the up

T mobile dash

This happen to me more than once, the latest today (may 25 08)at 9pm. Tmobile will tell you how sorry they are and that's about it. I am on my second dash and second battery.
Try to hold both top keys (between call green and hung up red) while you are pressing on the shut off switch for 2 seconds. Whe it comes back to life, everything will have erased but supposedly, the phone will be like new.
I am collecting names and emails of people who are fed up with the Dash and Tmobile. Write to me

Windows Mobile 6 Won't Boot

bigsphinx, I too am having the exact same problem on both my phone and my wife's too, about once a month it just locks up then after a soft reset it just gets stuck on the green screen. I called support and they said I just have to do a hard reset, which loses everything :(

So for now I always backup (using PIMBackup) to my SD card for the next time it happens.

T-mobile Dash Won't start

This will fix it:

Turn the phone off, remove the battery for a minute. Replace the battery.

Hold down the right and left soft menu keys simultaneously then press the power button for a couple seconds and release. Keep holding down the soft keys until the hard reset screen displays.

The reset screen will tell you to press 'Send' to reset or any other key to cancel. Press and hold 'Send', which is the button with the green phone on it. After a couple seconds, the device will start to do its thing.

This will take some time so be patient. It will have a question or two as it goes through the process. Answer.

Don't worry, you won't lose your branding (e.g. if you are a tmo customer, you don't lose the ability to have myfavs and your phone keeps the tmo branding/settings).

Tmobile dash is getting me p'd off

Mine does the samething. I'm running 6.1 and have found the problem to be the system fails to read the sd card on boot. When I reset my memory I don't put the sd card in until the system has booted back to the start screen. Works fine everytime.

My HTC S620 stays on second start screen

Hello, These methods have been confirmed on my phone with both T-Mobile's ROM and Excalibur (S620 original ROM) Remove any memory cards before starting this process.

With OS:
1. Select Start
2. Select Accessories
3. Clear Storage
4. Type in 1234
5. Select Yes

Without OS:
Turn the hand-held off, hold the two soft keys (the dashes to the left and right of the phone buttons) hold the power button for 1-2 seconds and then release the soft keys. It should prompt you to clear storage. The “send” button is considered as the green phone button.

Let us know if you have any other questions. If this information was helpful, please take a moment to rate the solution. Thank you.
