After a few min the screen goes black and the sound shutsoff

if you turn the tv off then back on in a min or 2 then you get the pic back and the sound to but in a couple of minutes it starts back over again like someething inside is overheating but what is it it happenes when you are wathching a dvd or satilite or even a vhs
