Re: email

Which ever application you use (let me know specifically), you will almost always choose creating a POP account. You need from your service providers the following items.

  1. SMTP domain (ie.
  2. POP domain (ie.
  3. Username to your email (ie.
  4. Password for this account.
Your ISP will most likely have instructions about how to connect to them. If you go to their support and type in POP3 with Outlook or Outlook Express. You'll most likely get a hit.

In Outlook, go to Tools | Account Settings | Email to add the accounts.

Hope this helpa, if it does, please choose FixYa!

How do I bring up lists of emails, i.e. incoming, sent, deleted etc.

Depending on your provider for email service it will be in someplace different on all of them. The one thing they have in common is there will be a section on the left or the right for you to change options of what mail you are looking at. Some of them list them in folders and some have drop down menus from the main menus listed across the top of page.

Why do my emails to others show windows live mail not my personal email address?

Really need more info than what you gave.
Your emails are sending through the Live mail server. Your personal email? is that from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? Check the setting or options on your email client (program) it should have a reply to field you could set that as your personal email address. It is also possibly where the setting is that is sending through the live mail server.
You might need to set your ISP as the default. For example I use Thunderbird. It checks my ISP email and 3 Gmail addresses but when I send by default I send through one of my Gmail addresses but I can use a drop down box to select a different send server if I want to appear as coming from a different address.

Need my POP password to verify my Fsnet address on my Apple mini Ipad where do I find my POP password

Most email service providers do not have any access to your password. They are all encrypted and only you know it. so if you forgot it, then your only solution is to password reset with your email service provider. Typically the web interface were you check your email has a log in prompt and right next to it is a forgot password link. Click it and follow the instructions. It will ask you password recovery questions that you entered upon setting up the email. Answer the questions and the email provider will either email you a new temp password to a recovery email associated with the account, or ask you to enter a new password right away. The exact procedures differ with each email provider, yet they all have a very similar process.

My email server, optonline, is down. am i able to transfer email account to different server so i can receive and send emails

You're completely out of luck. Email service at Optonline (and its doppelganger, Optimum) is completely down for all Cablevision customers (i.e, both residential and commercial). The problem commenced yesterday (July 15, 2010) and continues nearly 24 hours later. Don't waste your time calling tech support -- they don't know what's wrong and they have absolutely no clue as to when service might be restored. You can, however, call customer service (if you can get through) and request a refund for the day. Amazingly, despite the major impact that the outage is having on all of their customers, the website makes no mention whatsoever of the problem.

Im unable to send e mails it says theres a server problem

try this:
go to your Internet Service Provider's web site and search for the email settings for their email servers.
or phone them and the should walk you through setting up your Outlook.
It is different for every service provider so I'm sorry I can't give you the exact settings.
