SOURCE: sub zero side by side

yuor sub zero is low on freon in the fridge side. if you call sub zero they will cover the repair, even if its not under warranty, as long as you use anathorized servicer. they had some failures of the evaporater in the fridge that caused the freon leak. Don't let the repair person who comes out tell yu it needs a compressor, that will only fix it temporarily. Good luck!

SOURCE: Sub-zero Fridge not cooling and ice forming

The leak in the system can be located by a number of methods. First I would look for a slight sign of oil at the point of the leak. 10% of the compressor oil circulates with the refrigerant. Although the refrigerant will leak out as a colorless, odorless gas and be invisible to sight it will leave an oil trace. Electronic leak detectors can detect leaks as small as .5 ounce per year. If the leak is large enough it can be detected with simple soap and water which will form bubbles at the leak point.

My vaccume condensor light is flashing and my refrigerator is 55 degrees. I vaccumed the coils on the side of the fan What could be the problem ?

You may need to unplug the fridge for a few hours and let it reset itself. Also make sure coils are clean and there is plenty of air flow to the condensor..

If the light keeps coming back on and temps are rising in the refer section, then you most likely have an evaporator leak. Check to see if you see either a moist spot or ice on the back wall on the left side of the back wall of the refer. If you do, it's definetly a leak. Call a authorized Servicer.

Sub zero frig

First check the condenser up top behind the grille and on the right side. If it is clogged with dirt, shut it down and use a vacuum to remove the dust. If tis clean then look at the display. Does it read "service" or "vacuum condenser" Also, whhat temp does the freezer read on the display? Lastly is it saying anything like "EC40"? These may be clues as to the problem. Let me know about this and I can give you more help if necessary. Good luck!
