Question about OKI MICROLINE 320 Turbo Matrix Printer
I connected the Oki 320 printer to the Jetdirect 170x print server and was able to send print jobs to it however, the printer will only print a portion of the job and then quits. While the p/s seems to be thinking (the activity light blinks) the printer never starts back up until the printer is shut off and turned back on. It is almost like it is running out of memory or something.
The print server seems to be working correctly and i am using the built in Windows driver through XP (Okidata ML 320 Turbo/D IBM) which is the same driver I am using for the printer when it is shared via an XP machine which works just fine.
I just had this exact same problem - same printer, same Jetdirect model. Mine turned out to be the parallel printer mode setting inside the JetDirect. I connected to the configuraiton page by IP, then changed the Parallel mode from "AUTO" to "Centronics", tested it, and it worked fine after that. Hope it helps.

Check the receive buffer on the Oki. I usually set it to the highest (88k or 128k). You might also check the print head gap if you are printing multi part invoices. If the print head is too close it may overheat and stop printing. If you have a different printer, swap it out and see if it prints correctly. It may be a problem with the JetDirect 170x, not the printer.
