I would recommend geting a new transformer, althought its possible that there is a connection loss somewhere in the middle or then it would require replacement parts, does the transformer have a power light on it?

Shouldnt cost alot, checking.

There is no power supply passing into the device. the green led is not at all lit. the volume controller does not show green light. i feel that the power supply is not getting into the device pls help

Get a multimeter and check its output voltage. it must give 11.5V AC as output. The current output in the multimeter must be 1.6 A .If it is not giving the output, your AC Adaptor has gone bad. there are 4 screws on the adaptor which you can open and inside you will find a single step down transformer. of rating 11.5V AC 111600mA(That is 1.6A) Aand 18.4VA rating. You can try to repair it at a transformer rewinding shop(IF HE DOES IT PROPERLY). or, try to get a new AC ADAPTOR OF THE SAME RATING.

Sounds like something went bad in the power supply. I would check all the capacitors to make sure none are raised on top or leaking. If all the caps look good then it could be a bad transformer. A new power supply board should fix it if you don't want to desolder, test and replace components.

My SONY STR-DE835 receiver amplifier is showing PROTECTOR on the digital readout.Anybody know what that means.

These models are known for this issue.
I've had my share in the shop here.
Disconnect all speakers, turn speakers off, try headphones only
If it still persists then there is either :
1. power supply capacitors gone bad or 2. The thermal fuse in the transformer is open.
A tech can very easily find out if the thermal fuse is open by checking the primary of the transformer
if the plastic is shrinking away from the power supply capacitors then they've gone bad

I now have several Hanns G 174A monitors that have gone dark, power light on, and a quiet, but distinct "clicking" sound from the monitor about every second or so. Any ideas? (no video source plugged in,...

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

No picture will appear on my Eview 15 monitor . Have verified condition of power supply as OK.

I assume that you get the same result with another PC and already try new VGA cable, just want to narrow down the problem before trying to take the monitor apart.

My hard drive has stopped working! I checked power supply and it is working fine, when plugged into drive and turned on, the blue light flashes briefly on the drive then goes off again as does the light on...

Could be a bad transformer on the power supply or a bad drive. You could check the voltage coming from the transformer and verify that it is the proper voltage using a fluke meter. You could also dis-assemble the hard drive housing and try installing it in the computer and check if it is working. If you install it in the computer and the drive is not found then the drive is probably bad. If the drive works in the computer then get a new transformer.

Was the fuse Blown?? check with an ohm meteracross the two prongs that you plug into the wall of course you gotta unplug it for this. It should read around 4 to 10 ohms depending on the type of power transformer is in the unit.. If it reads open then theres a fuse open or a bad power transformer. If its not open check the power supply for the proper voltage from the diagram. Good luck
