I am having trouble reinstalling OS on an ibook g4 I got it to run trough some of the setup but it errored out. when tried again I am no longer able to boot off of cd drive
If you are not able to boot off the cd rom then please just goto BIOS setup of your system and simply change Boot order ( or priorities) to cd rom. and then you will be able to boot properly. Don't panic it will get installed smoothly then.
If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.

The screen just shows the apple symbol in the centre of the screen with the 'busy' circle animated underneath. It stays like this for 3 or 4 minutes and then goes blank and begins the process once again. It worked okay before this. Can't think of anything done to it that would cause this problem. Regards, Baz

While is was searching on the internet my iBook G4 locked up. I tried to reboot and it locked up again. I tried to reinstall OSX but during the install it locked up. I replaced the memory and hard drive and got the same results. The system continues to lock up during install. What could be wrong? Logic board? Something else? Any help?

my ibook g4 locked up one day while I was on the internet. I tried to reboot, nothing. I tried to reinstall Leopard, the computer locked up during the install. I replaced the hard drive and memory and still it locked during install of Leopard. What else could be causing the system to lock. Mother board? Processor?
